- she bowed [her] head a little,
- restraining the coming of dew from [her] collyrium eyes covered with red streaks,
- eminently graceful, when we came near to her,
- as the charioteer strong of hand made the handled
- long chariot with fast-moving good horses go gently,
- saying: "if you can take care of the house,
- measuring it out(?) with the gold of the fine pollen from the Puṉṉai tree
- [you] have shaken down into the white sand, in play with [your] companions,
- is it something evil, you beautiful one,
- if you unite with me in mastering this house, even a little?",
- - so that we had great distress here.
