- of the intimacy in which united with us
- the man from the ghat, where they distribute the rich-eyed(?) Ayilai fish,
- praising the yield of the pretty nets with small openings,
- in the village with small homes that smell greatly(?) of fish,
- since the fishermen with bent boats succeeded in hunting,
- so that gossip-mouthed women were spreading scandal. Now,
- after the wedding has been agreed upon(?), newly,[FNote_22]
- sound has ceased in this noisy village,
- as in the Banyan tree with many aerial roots
- that covered the rare secret of Rāma of victorious battle
- on the front ghat, where the the thundering great ocean is sounding,
- in venerable old Kōṭi of the Pāṇṭiyas with overcoming spears,
- where women decorating themselves for the festival add foliage to [their] decoration
- of the round-stemmed blue water-lily grown from green leaves
- in the dark water, beautifying(?)[FNote_23] the big seashore grove ghat,
- where the Puṉṉai trees form lines(?)[FNote_24] with the gold-blossomed Ñāḻal.
