Civaṉ wears a plate of gold and a crescent as white as milk;

படர் சடைச் சுடர்விடு பாணி
bore sparkling water on his spreading caṭai.
நள்ளிருள் நட்டம் ஆடும் நாதனார் நவின்று உறை கோயில்
the temple in which the chief who dances at midnight dwells with desire.
புள்தன் பேடையொடு ஆடும் பூம் புகலூர்
which is in pukalūr where birds play with their females.
தொண்டர் போற்றி வட்டம் சூழ்ந்து அடிபரவும் வர்த்தமானீச் சரத்தாரே
is in varttamāṉiccaram where devotees praise and surround him on a circle and pay obeisance to his feet.

our Lord and our father who has a lady who is as sweet as the sweet nectar and who has the nature of arivai and terivai whose face is like the full moon in which the black spot is compared to the hare;

ஒண் கதிர் வாள் மதியம் சேர்தலால் ஓங்கிய, அங்கண் விசும் முயலும் தொழப்படூஉம் (nālaṭiyār 176);

the devotees bathing in the cool tanks plunging into them.
துணையலும் சாந்தமும் புகையும் கொண்டு அடிகொண்டு பரவி
carrying garlands, sandal-paste, incense for burning, and praising the feet of god fixing them in their minds.
குறிப்பு அறிமுருகன் செய் கோலம் கண்டு கண்டு கண்குளிர
the eyes being satisfied with seeing the decoration by Murukaṉ (a nāyaṉār, comtemporary of Campantar) who knows everything by his penetrative intellect.
களிபரந்து ஒளி மல்கு கள் ஆர் வண்டு பண் செய்யும் புகலூர் வர்த்த மானீச்சுரத்தார்
is in varttamāṉiccaram in pukalūr where the bees having drunk the honey are lustrous, get intoxicated, and hum like melody-types.

our Lord who has unadorned natural beauty and arifical body who is united with a lady, being himself a male.

Civaṉ has on his head koṉṟai on which swarming bees who loudly, and other fragrant flowers which muruka nāyaṉar adorns in the morning, noon, and evening. (muruka nāyaṉār was a contemporary of campantar, a native of pukalūr; he supplied flowers and garland to Civaṉ thrice in a day; therefore he is eulogized by campantar.)

as the tender creeper grows with tender leaves.

in pukalūr where in the gardens the mast-wood trees blossom flowers like gold tied in a piece of cloth when the spirited young deer creeps through a narrow passage

{$} தென் சொல் விஞ்சு அமர் வடசொல் திசை மொழி எழில் நரம்பு எடுத்து
singing in any one of the languages such as tamiḻ, excellent vaṭacol and words borrowed from the twelve countries bordering the country where chaste tamiḻ is spoken, playing songs on the strings of yāḻ and viṇai.
துஞ்சு நெஞ்சு இருள் நீங்கத் தொழுது எழு தொல் புகலூரில்
in ancient pukalūr where devotees wake up from sleep worshipping with joined hands in order to dispel the ignorance in the mind which has been staying there for a long time.
அஞ்சனம் பிதிர்ந்தனைய அல்கடல் கடைய அன்று எழுந்த வஞ்ச நஞ்சு அணி கண்டர் வர்த்தமானீச்சரத்தார்
Civaṉ who adorned his neck with the cruel poison which arose in the moving ocean which is like the collyrium scattered everywhere when it was churned, is in varttamāṉiccaram.

{$} சாம வேதம் ஓர் கீதம் ஓதி அத்தசமுகன் பரவும் நாமதேயம் (அது) உடையார் நன்கு உணர்ந்து அடிகள் என்று ஏத்த
that ten-faced īravaṇaṉ realising well that Civaṉ was the god and praised him by chanting the cāmavētam which is musical, and has a name which is praised by him.
காமதேவனை வேவக் கனல் எரி கொளுவிய கண்ணார்
has a frontal eye by which he set scorching fire to burn Kāmatēvaṉ (cupid).
வாம தேவர்
has the appellation of vāmatēvar.
தண்புகலூர் வர்த்தமானீச்சரத்தார்
is in varttamāṉiccaram in cool pukalūr.

{$} சீர் அணங்கு உறநின்ற செருவுறு திசை முகனோடு நாரணன் கருத்து அழிய நகை செய்த சடை முடி நம்பர்
Civaṉ who has a caṭai coiled into a crown and smiled to destroy the self-esteem of nāraṇaṉ along with Piramaṉ who has four faces each one for each quarter and who had divinity in him and quarrelled with nāraṇaṉ that he was superior to him;
ஆர் அணங்கு உறும் உமையை அஞ்சுவித்து அருளுதல் பொருட்டால்
with the purpose of granting his grace and causing fright to Umai who had rare beauty.
வாரணத்து உரி போர்த்தார் வர்த்தமானீச் சரத்தார்
Civaṉ who coverd himself with the skin of an elephant is (pukalūr) in varttamāṉiccaram.

{$} கையில் உண்டு உழல்வாரும்
camaṇar who wander eating their food using their hands as plates.
கமழ் துவர் ஆடையினால் தம் மெய்யைப் போர்த்து உழல் வாரும்
and buddhists who wander covering their bodies with a robe soaked in myrthe die whose odour spreads everywhere.
உரைப்பன மெய் என விரும்பேல்
(People of this world!) Do not wish to listen to what they talk as truth.
செய்யில் வாளைகளோடு செங்கயல் குதிகொளும் புகலூர்
in pukalūr where in the fields scabbard fish and red carp fish jump together.
மை கொள் கண்டத்து எம் பெருமான் வர்த்தமானீச்சரத்தார்
our Lord who has a black neck is in varttāmāṉiccaram.

{$} பொங்கு தண் புனல் சூழ்ந்து போது அணி பொழில் புகலூரில்
in pukalur which has gardens made beautiful by flowers and surrounded by foaming and raging cool water.
மங்குல் மாமதி தவழும் வர்த்தமானீச்சரத்தாரை
on Civaṉ in varttamāṉīccaram on which the big moon which dispels darkness seems to crawl.

those who are capable of praising Civaṉ everywhere with the ten pleasant verses composed by ñāṉacampantaṉ of great frame which stays with hum.
எய்துவர் இமையவர் உலகு
will reach the heaven of the immortals who do not wink.
