சுடுகாடு அல்லால் கருதாதீர்
you do not think of any other place (for dancing) except the cremation ground)
குலைச் செங்காய்ப் பைங்கமுகின் குளிர்கொள் சோலைக் குயில் ஆலும், தலைச்சங்கைக் கோயிலே (1) கோயிலாகத் தாழ்ந்தீரே

அண்டர்க்கு எல்லாம் மாண்பு ஆனீர்
you have greatness which is above the greatness of the celestials.
பிணி மல்கு நூல் மார்பர் பெரியோர் வாழும் தலைச் சங்கை அணி மல்கு கோயிலே கோயிலாக அமர்ந்தீர்
you desired to stay in the very beautiful temple in talaiccaṅkai where great men who wear on their chest twisted sacred thread, as the temple fitting your greatness.

the devotees who carry water to bathe you and flowers to adorn you and who never leave you, praise you standing.
தார் கொண்ட நூல் மார்பர் தக்கோர் வாழும் தலைச் சங்கை, ஏர்கொண்ட கோயிலே கோயிலாக இருந்தீர்
you occupied the beautiful temple in talaiccankai where worthy brahmins who wear the sacred thread and a garland (of lotus) live, as the temple fitting your greatness

நீண்ட சடைமேல் நீர் ஏற்றீர்
you received water on your long caṭai.
ஆலம் சேர் தண் கானல் அன்னம் மன்னும் தலைச் சங்கைக் கோலம் சேர் கோயிலே கோயிலாகக் கொண்டீர்
you occupied the beautiful temple in talaiccankai where swans stay in the cool littoral gardens where there is plenty of water, as the temple fitting your greatness

Being the earth, the water, the sky, the fire and the air.
ஐந்து புலம் நீர்மை புறங்கண்டார்
those who controlled the nature of the five sense perceptions.
பொக்கம் செய்யார் போற்று ஓவார்
who do not commit any false acts, and never cease from praising god.
சல நீதர் அல்லாதார் தக்கார் வாழும் தலைச் சங்கை
in talaiccankai where worthy people who are not low by their deceptive nature, live.

you were united with Umai who has tenderness like the creeper, on one half.

you joined the well-guarded temple in talaiccaṅkai where brahmins who desired the study of the vētams wear a sacred thread on their chest smeared with holy ash, as the temple fitting your greatness.

{$} திரை ஆர்ந்த மாகடல் சூழ் தென் இலங்கைக் கோமானை வரை ஆர்ந்த தோள் அடர விரலால் ஊன்றும் மாண்பினீர்
you have the honour of pressing down your toe to crush the shoulders which were comparable to the mountain, of the king of ilaṅkai in the south, girt by a great sea with waves.
அரை ஆர்ந்த மேகலையீர்
you wear a girdle in the waist as an ornament

{$} பாய் ஓங்கு பாம்பு அணை மேலானும் பைந்தாமரையானும்
Māl who lies on a superior serpent bed which is like a mat, and Piramaṉ who is seated on a cool lotus.
போய் ஓங்கிக் காண்கிலார்
were not able to find you though the former went digging into the earth and the latter went flying in the sky.
புறம் நின்று ஓரார் போற்று ஓவார்
those who do not search for you outside the pale of caivism will not cease from praising you
தீ ஓங்கு மறையாளர் திகழும் செல்வத் தலைச் சங்கைச் சேயோங்கு கோயிலே கோயிலாகச் சேர்ந்தீர்
you joined the tall temple which is visible from a great distance and where the wealthy brahmins who maintain the three fires are prosperous, as the temple fitting your greatness.

{$} அலை ஆரும் புனல் துறந்த அமணர், குண்டர் (1) சாக்கியர்
amaṇar who do not bathe in water which has waves, and cākkiyar, the low people
தொலையாது அங்கு அலர் தூற்ற
spread slander without being exhausted
தோற்றம் காட்டி ஆட் கொண்டீர்
you admitted me into your grace showing me your divine form.
தலையான நால் வேதம் தரித்தார் வாழும் தலைச் சங்கை, நிலை ஆர்ந்த கோயிலே கோயிலாக நின்றீர்
you stayed for ever in the temple with many floors in talaiccankai where brahmins who vetam in mind all the four important vetams liue, as the temple fitting your greatness.

{$} குளிரும் தலைச் சங்கை ஓங்கு கோயில் மேயானை
on Civaṉ who dwells in the tall temple in cool talaiccankai
குளிரும் பிறையானை
and who wears a cool crescent
நளிரும் புனல் காழி நல்ல ஞானசம்பந்தன்
ñāṉacampantaṉ of good qualities who is a native of Kāḻi of cool water
உரைத்த பாடல் இவை வல்லார்
those who are capable of reciting these verses composed (by him)
மிளிரும் திரை சூழ்ந்த வையத்தார்க்கு மேலார்
will become tevar to the people of this world which is girt by the sea having waves rolling up and down.
