TRANSLATION
- Friend (5)!
- Why do you feel prostrate (5)
- thinking that our talaiv[an] prolonged his stay and did not return (4),
- without understanding our nature in staying here concealing (3)
- daily (2),
- the eyes coated with collyrium from which tears flow (1),
- and the shoulders on which sallowness has spread (1),
- from being well known to, others (2),
- as they are emaciated (2) ?

- has gone in the desert situated in the big mountain (16)
- having taken with him our glorious beauty (7)
- which can be compared to veḷiyam, (வெளியம்)
a city belonging to vāṉavarampaṉ (வானவரம்பன்:) ceraṉ (6).
- There the lustrous smoke which rises due to the forest being burnt
which surrounds the table land which has cultivated ground (14)
- which has green stalk of ever fresh income of varaku (வரகு) common millet) of forked ears of grain (13),
- which gets mingled with the tiny particles of streams (15)
- In that curam where the male elephant of long legs which lost its female elephant loved by it (10),
- roars in contrast to the thunder in the side of the mountain where deities reside desiring that place (11),
- like the sound of the drum of Kōtiyar who rested in the branching paths of the difficult curam (desert region) (8)

- It belongs to Pulli (புல்லி) of excessived munificence, of good fame, who never fails supplicants

NOTES
நாளும் can be added along with சாஅய்
also அவர் is put in apposition with இயங்கியோர்,
கோடியர் இயம் பெருங்கல் மீமிசை எழுந்தாங்கு - is the order in which words are to be arranged
முனாஅது may means also the old curam, it can be also added with மாணலம்;
then it will mean our former glorious beauty.
இயம் கல் மிசை எழுதல் - here means the echo produced in the mountain
புல்லி should be taken with பெருவரை.
மூழ்கிய is used in the sense of surrounded by.
The statement that talaivaṉ took away with him talaivi's glorious beauty
suggests that it will return when he returns.
