TRANSLATION

- and going in the broad forest ways where the leaves of teak tree which are removed from their stalk by the violent wind (5)
- and spread so as to hide the visibility of space of the sky and join together (7)
- like the rising circle of kites which make a sound that can be heard at a great distance (6)
- and spread so as to confuse the mind of wayfarers from knowing the track (9)
- (Our lady) having lost her goodness and fresh beauty (2)
- slowly like the moon just before daybreak, (11)
- due to the inability to stand the loneliness, (12)

- pouring drop by drop clear tears on her breasts (15)
- from the cool eyes whose eyelids were wet and united with tears (14)

பிரிந்த means பிரிந்து என்னுடன் வந்த (which accompanied me after parting talaimakaḷ)
The mind is spoken of as different from talaimakaṉ.
உள்ளம்: nominative of address.
It is the idea of the talaivaṉ that it was very diffiuclt to forget the native place in which one was born
and about which one was thinking day and night and living there, and stay in a different place.
The leaves of the teak tree which were removed by the violent wind, rose up and hid the whole space of the sky first
and then they fell on the earth spreading, and hid the paths inthe desert.
As the face of talaivi who heard the news of parting for acquiring wealth from the mouth of talaivaṉ, lost its brightness;
it was compared to the moon which would appear pale before daybreak.
In the very much distressed state of talaivi who heard the parting of talaivaṉ
her face lost its brighttness and bowed down, she was not able to stand, and was scratching the earth,
her eyes shedding tears profusely, and her mind being much confused by affliction,
her tresses fell down and hid her body; she was broken-hearted and grieved,
and breathed hot; she was not even able to speak; so she said "Let your going get improved".
Her distressed state was ever present indelibly in talaivaṉ's mind;
so he said that bewildered state of talaivi was difficult to forget,
and it was difficult to stay in the desert. So spoke talaivaṉ to his mind.
