TRANSLATION
- Chief of the land (6)
- where the gently-moving wind pervades the cool drops and makes them shed (6)
- in the big branches which are thriving and having bright sprouts of the east indian kino tree (5),
- which blossoms in the evening which is resembling sapphire, (4)
- to create abundance (3)
- just like the sun of many rays which is the cause of the earth yielding several fruitful wealth (1)
- in order to give good activities to this worldd, climbs above clock-wise and is shining (2)

Special notes :- If the word திருவிற்பல் கதிர்
is split into திருல் பல் கதிர், it will mean rainbow with many colours.
வயங்கு தொழில் activities which help living beings to lead a good life.
The sapphire is compared to the darkness in the evening and the east indian kino tree
with its red foliage and golden flowers in the evening are compared to the blue sea and the sun rising above the sea.
Elephants gain the upper hand at times in a fight with the tiger;
this can be known from the following quotations in akam itself; ""இரும்புலி தொலைத்த
பெருங்கை வேழத்துப்,
புலவு நாறு புகர் நுதல் கழுவ''
""கொடுவரிப், புலியொடு பொருது சினம் சிறந்து வலியோடு, உரவுக் களிறு ஒதுங்கிய மருங்கில்'' (அகம். 272-1-2, 291-5-6).
""முறம் செவி மறைப் பாய்பு முரண் செய்த புலி செற்று.................கூர்நுதி மடுத்து அதன்,
நிறன் சாடி முரண் தீர்ந்த நீள் மருப்பு எழில் யானை'' (கலித்தொகை, 52-1-4).
Though there in no object for கொன்று we must supply the word "tiger" from the foregoing quotations.
""That my friend's joy was more pleasant than your coming at night''
hinted that talaivi's joy was pleasant to her. Talaivi said, ""Though I knew your excessive love towards me,
I mentioned about your cruelty to my friend''.
The friend replied "Do not lament, he will definitely come"
She was talaivi's conselling companion throughout night without sleeping;
so talaivi said, "The joy that my friend felt on your coming was more pleasant than your coming"
In line 15 the father is described as having as much toddy as rain itself
and swift moving chariots. In akam, stanza 271, lines 12, aviyaṉ,
a chieftain is described as having" களிமலி கள்ளின் நற்றேர் அவியன்
- In this line both toddy and chariots are mentioned,
but the new commentators has split கள்ளினற்றேர் as கள்ளில் நற்றேர் and they have given கள்ளில்
as the place belonging to aviyaṉ.
