TRANSLATION
- The pleasant village in which the beautiful talaivi of fair complexion (13)
- who is more bewildered than us because of longing (12),
- resides (13),
- is situated in the beautiful forest region (11).
- (In that forest) in the small hamlets situated at the foot of the hillocks (7)
- which is surrounded by villages of the forest region, (7)
- where the short hares having eyes in which are set small eye-balls resembling the fruits of emblic myrobalam
of small leaves, and sharp fur, and bent ears (4),
- after eating the enlarged and concealed ears of corn of the bent common millet (வரகு) (3)
- sleep among the creepers with unripe fruits (4)
- wake up from their sweet sleep; and go with their mates; (5)
- find water stored in the small earthern tub in the frontyard and drink it (6);
- there the hunters who have drunk the toddy prepared from millet (தினை)
and have arrows which they twag with their fingers and thumb (8),
- have bows to which strings are fixed after drawing them to their full length (9),
- go about hunting (9)
- and slaughter a deer for venison in the garden of the forest region (10).

As toddy is prepared from paddy which is cultivated in marutam (மருதம்)
so also the hunters prepare a kind of toddy from millet. (தினை) a product of Kuṟiñci.
As the village of the talaivi is situated in the forest region talaivaṉ mildly hinted to drive the chariot fast.
If it is a soliloquy then it will mean, `The talaivi is in the forest region, we are still here'.
