"குறுமகள்(5)! மாதராய்(10)! (நீ) மனைபுறந்தருதியாயின்(8), எம்மனைக்கிழமை எம்மொடு புணரின்(9) தீதும் உண்டோ' என(10) (நெஞ்சே) யாம் தற்குறு கினமாக(13) யாம் பெரிய எவ்வம் உற(16) (அவள்) பனிவரல் ஒடுக்கித்(14) தலை சிறிய இறைஞ்சினள்(15).

குறுமகள் can be taken as the subject and ended with இறைஞ்சினள் as its predicate, as found in the text. பனி வரல்! it is to be taken to mean tears of joy as they will be cool, whereas tears born of grief will be hot.
