TRANSLATION
- Our parents (4)
- drank clarified toddy prepared from buds (1)
- they have heaped and spread sand brought from river in the good house containing decorative art (2)
- and they have made all preparations for the marriage of their daughter having tresses of fine appearance (3)
- The talaivaṉ, chief of the desert tract, who has black cheeks with thick hair
and who has intelligence to agree to the elopement
and who has a newly made white lance which is in the shape of a straight leaf (5)
- with tender leaves and soft bunches of flowers from which honey flows (8)
- removing them from the white indian oak tree of bulky and cylindrical trunk, which has bending branches (7)
- Therefore (4)
- I willingly consented to (14)
- your elopement with him (9),
- in the difficult desert (14)
- which has forest (13)
- being afraid of the roaring noise produced by the tiger of wide open mouth
having missed its elephant as its prey (11)
