TRANSLATION
- (If my daughter) walks in the great broad and famous mansion
to make her anklets shine and plays throwing ball with her group of playmates for a little while (2)
- I would praise her by saying `Please come" (3)
- and would make her drink milk in a cup which is overflowing to the brim
which resembles the white indian jalap flower of big leaves which is of dew (4),
- entreating her, `If you have drunk my portion, you drink the portion for the satisfaction of your father" (6-7)
- and thus brought up her from her birth celebrating all special festivities (8)
- and she is now a young girl wearing golden bangles, and I praised her charms (9)
- she went with a virtueless youth, now (10).
- I do not feel sorry with a mind that could not forget it
and have peace of mind
- The male of the spotted deer being frightened by the brown-coloured wild dog (13)
- which has sharp and white teeth which resemble long-drawn golden wire (12)
- (think as its protection) the sweet sound produced by the hot western wind
as it passes through the holes in colourless shells of fruits (15)
- of wood-apple of rough cracked trunk (14)
- as the music played on the flute (16)
- by cowherds and goes there (15)
- My daughter went walking (18)
- in that long path devoid of water (16),
- to make her youthful beauty diminish and become thinned (17).
- I feel sad (18)
- only whether she would be able to walk in the place (18)
