• Chief ! The strong and swift walking male elephant which is praised by its herd feeds it with tender bamboos and relishing leaves (1-2)

(தலைவ)! புயலேறு உரைஇய நடுநாள்(6) நீயும்(9) "நின் தோள் சேர்பு அல்லதை(8) எம் கண் படா அவாகும்' என(9) விடரகம் வரல் அரிது என்னாய்(12) வர எண்ணுதி(13); யாமும்(16) ஒரு நாள் முயங்கே மாயின்(16) இழை நெகிழச் சா அய்தும்(17); அதனால்(13) அன்னை அறியினும் அறிக(18); மூதூர் கேட்பினும் கேட்க(19); தோன்றியொடு(20) வேங்கை கமழும்(21) சாரல் பகல் வநட்தீமே(22).
