TRANSLATION
- The ladies belonging to the chief of the agricultural tract of cool ghats (4)
- where the girl belonging to the bard caste who angles fish with a small fishing rod to which is attached a string (7)
- thrusts into the mouth (4)
- of her father (3)
- who is drunken after taking toddy strained by the webbed cocoanut fibre (3),
- the murrel fish which was caught near the water-front (2)
- having roasted it in the fire-wood of glabrous mahua (4),
- will speak disparagingly of us as they like (6)
- This is what others say (6).
- If they indulge in such scandal about us and if we deserve it let anything happen to us (6-7).
- If we go to their street they will suffer (16)
- like the suffering of the big male elephant (15)
- on whose chest was thrust (14)
- the white lance to which has been tightly fixed a female screw and which does not break when thrown on enemies (13),
- by ātaṉ eḻiṉi (14)
