TRANSLATION
- Companion (14)!
- The cruel fishermen who are fond of killing
and who live in huts having short sloping roofs (1)
- attack a big proud fish by throwing
a sharp instrument like a chisel (2)
- That fish jumps like the rainbow
that adorns the sky, (4)
- and changes the colour of the sea
which has the stench of fish (3)
- by the blood that flows from its wound (3)
- and stirs the expanse of the sea
which has waves with sprays of green colour (4-5)
- It comes near the fishing boats which are in rows, (6)
- being decreased in strenght (5)
- The talaivaṉ who has such a ghat (6)
- praised without [...] ((contentment)CROSSED) (10)
- and appreciated the beauty of the big ghat (9)
- of our village (8)
- which has a grove (9),
- when he came here at midnight (7)
- remembering our shoulders which are like bamboos (7).
