- told us, (4)
- `Young lady ! (3)

- with an untruthful mind (4),
- to make us consent to it (4)
- without any firm principles (5)
- as if he was united with us by a pure heart (2)
- due to the association of friendship that had continued during several previous births in which our lives were united together (1).
- Though he has parted from us now to make us weep (7)
- and for the sallowness to spread on the forehead on account of the suffering
born of excessive distemper (6)
- let him get easily great wealth (14)
- with delight (13)
- in order to entertain rare guests with delicious food in our wealthy mansion (13).
- It is my wish (14).
- That mansion is like the Kāvirippaṭṭiṉam which has gardens (12)
- which are situated in the midst of long backwaters where many flowers blossom (11),
- and which is ruled by Polampūṇ Kiḷḷi who coveted to annex the land of Kōcar (10)
- having destroyed their renewed army (9),
- who were wealthy (9)
- and whose good fame for their truthfulness had spread far and wide (8).
- In the beautiful summit of the mountain the water moves slowly and descends, (18)
- in the adjoining hill (16)
- where long bamboos which have grown very high, give shade to the place (16),
- when the darkness that creates confusion in the early dewy season has disappeared (15)
- and when dew falls like rain, (15)
- like the sides of the temples of an elephant from which must oozes out (17)
- (On that summit) the fragrant flowers of east indian kino tree indicating the wedding day (20),
- drop and they appear like the stripes on the skin of the tiger (19).
- The group of male monkeys (21)
- proudly (19)
- climb up the big branch which grows tall (21)
- and jump about inviting their kin (22)
- (our talaivar) has gone beyond the desert (24)
- which has places where varying languages are spoken, (24)
- and which is intersected by difficult places (23)
- where huge boulders lie (23),
- in the narrow path in the middle of hills (22).
