TRANSLATION
- Charioteer (9)!
- As we went into the warcamp of expansive and immense size (3)
- where vaḻuti (2)
- who has an unspoiled white umbrella which sheltered and protected the whole world, (1)
- an army as large as the sea (2)
- and proud horses (2),
- fought strenuously in the battle (3)
- and won it and brought it to a successful finish by doing our part (4);
- which has wings inside (6),
- which come in never-ending groups (6)
- and humhum upon the flowers of fragrant arabian jasmine (முல்லை) in the evening, (7)
- in the forest which is pleasing to look at
as it has put forth fresth foliage having received rains in the winter (5).

- and luxurious tresses which are as fragrant as the garden situated in ciṟukuti (சிறுகுடி) of vāṇaṉ (12).
