Charioteer (9)!
As we went into the warcamp of expansive and immense size (3)
where vaḻuti (2)
who has an unspoiled white umbrella which sheltered and protected the whole world, (1)
an army as large as the sea (2)
and proud horses (2),
fought strenuously in the battle (3)
and won it and brought it to a successful finish by doing our part (4);
which has wings inside (6),
which come in never-ending groups (6)
and humhum upon the flowers of fragrant arabian jasmine (முல்லை) in the evening, (7)
in the forest which is pleasing to look at as it has put forth fresth foliage having received rains in the winter (5).

She has bright bangles (14)
and luxurious tresses which are as fragrant as the garden situated in ciṟukuti (சிறுகுடி) of vāṇaṉ (12).

who beat upon the mouth of the drum (10)
scares away the birds that dwell in the big tank (11)
in which many kinds of flowers grow (11)
