• The inhabitant of the hilly tract (குறவன்) (6)
• adorns his head with golden bunches of flowers of east indian kino ttree of beautiful appearance (1)
• and places on his shoulder the strong bow made of bamboo and bent ready for use (2)
• He consumes the liquor which is produced from the pulp of the fruits of jack-tree having sweet fruits (3),
• with the young attendants who possess arrows that speed with a shrill sound while they ara discharged (4).
• He is followed by strong hunting dogs which never fail to catch hold of beasts by chasing them from their hiding places (5).
• He goes hunting (6)
• and kills the porcupine (8)
• in the hill so that the cool bush of wild jasmine sways to and fro with the stain of its blood (7)
• Chief of that hilly country! (8)
• This lady's eyes are always weeping, full of tears, (12)
• and she is thinking of the dangers in the way in which you come all alone (11)
• at daat of night (10)
• when strong clouds descend to columns (9),
• and pour down heavily (10).

• where the old black-faced male langur with a roaring voice (14),

• It looks like the extensive arena where the priest worshipping murukaṉ (முருகன்) performs dance possessed by murukaṉ.

குன்ற நாட(8) பானாட் கங்குல்(10) தனியை வநந்தவாறு நினைந்து அல்கலும்(11) இவள்கண் பனியொடு கலுழும்(12) அதனால்(12) பெருவரை நண்ணிய சாரலான்(18) நீ கடும்பகல் வருதல் வேண்டும்(13).
