TRANSLATION
- In the adjacent hill of the high and great mountain which has peaks that seem to reach the sky (1)
- and by the side of forest having boulders which are scorched (2)
- the mirage appears like flowing water (2)
- In the extensive forest which is difficult to enter and in which fire spreads quickly (3)
- the elephant of small eyes stretches its long trunk (4)
- and opens its large mouth but does not get any water (5)
- and tract (6)
- There in the ways are fixed memorial stones of warriors on blood-stained arrows ready to be discharged (7)
- If you wish to cross the path in the desert (10)
- where (way-farers) do not find anyone to protect them from the battle
to which the petty chieftains subject them (10),
- will it be befitting you (14)
- to go away from this place and stay there, (14)
- for this lady who has a bright forehead like the crescent moon (13)
- eyes coated with collyrium which are as beautiful as the blue nelumbo flowers blossoming at down (12)
- red lips, sharp teeth like the thorns and which are thick like the root of the peacock's feather, (11)
