• Companion ! (16)
• The pig which lives in the mountain, (2)
• which has sharp tusk like diamond and raised upwards (1)
• and thick hairs like the roots of bamboo (2),
• quenches its thirst in the mountain pool which is full of water and which is like the centre of the drum head in size (3).
• It eats sumptuously the fertile bulbous root of indian kales (சேம்பு) which is like a ball of cooked rice and has broad leaves resembling sapphire (4-5)
• It descends step by step without any strain, down the rock which appears like a female elephant that is in a lying state (6)
• It comes into contact with the flowers in the bunch (10)
• of white convolvulus (கூதாளம்) which is moving (10)
• and which has unfolded its bind of luxuriant petals (9).
• That flower resembles the white crane that perches on the dense branches of the small green bush (8)
• formed by creepers which grows in a place where water springs as if it is like a place adjacent to a river (7).
• As the pollen in the convolvulus flowers falls on the pig (10)
• it appears beautiful like the touch-stone on which gold is rubbed to test its degree of fineness (11).
• It grazes the fully ripe ears of corns of small millet (சிறுதினை) (12)
• It sleeps soundly in the mountain (13).
• Let you too (14)
• who became reconciled with the chief of that hilly tract (13)
• after a love quarrel, giving it up completely, live in this world without losing the beauty of your shoulders which are like bamboos and be united with your mate (15)
• and afterwards live always in the next world which knows no destruction (16)
• He does not part from you even in your dreams (20)
• as he thinks the season when cool dew falls (19)
• at daybreak (18)
• when the clouds rain heavily making a sound like `kal) throughout day and night (17),
• is difficult to be endured by people who are alone and do not have their companion by their side (19).
• Over and above that, he lavishes, by his good quality, love on you more and more on subsequent days than on the first day he met you (21)
