• Companion! May you live long! (5)
• our talaivar crossed the desert (15)

• So they carry on their shoulders their strong bows, having mended their arrows and they wander in all directions (10-11).

(5) பொருள் புரிந்து(6) தொடி நெகிழ்ச்(6) சுரன் இறந்தோர் புணர்வர்(5); (ஆதலின்) நுதலும் பசப்பு இவரும்(1); தோளும்(1) வாடும்(3); நாளும் நினைவல்' என்று(4) இனையல்(5). மாக்கன் ஓசை ஓர்மார்(9) சிலை(10) இரீஇப் படர்தலின்(11) எண்கு கீழப்படு தாரம் உண்ணா(12) புழல் உணீ இய(13) இருப்பை ஊரும்(14) சுரன்(15).
