- Companion! May you live long ! (11)
- Vēlūrvayil has abundant old paddy (4)
- and has streets (3)
- in which the vessel that bales out toddy is caused to break (2)
- the jar in which the toddy that has been produced, after filtering for many days, is kept (1-2)
- in a shop which is surrounded by shady trees, (1)
- which are sprinkled by the drops of toddy running in the streets like the drops of rain falling from mixing clouds (3).
- The husband of talaivi swears before her and clears her mind by telling her, (10)
- "If I had bathed with the lady who has black tresses which has been adorned well, and whom you suspect (8)
- let the fearful deity which receives superior sacrificial offerings (7)
- and which is the cause for the swarm of bees with spots and lines (6)
- to avoid out of fear the garland on which scented water has been sprinkled, and made with fragrant bunches, (5)
