• (My mind)! The clouds scattered very hastily their water, when the lightning which was like the straight flame of fire was fleeting, tearing the clouds with dreadful thunders (4-5)
• in the sky which can be compared to the ocean (3).
• The ocean never diminishes in its quanlity of water and has in its depths conches increasing always in large numbers and is unfathomable and has the appearance of accumulated blackness (1-3).
• The rains poured heavily without stopping at midnight (6).
• Watching the opportune moment when the strict guards were lax in their duty (7)
• I stood in a part of the long mansion of talaivi's father (8-9)
• when the chill northern wind which was blowing slowly, caused me pain (8).
• The talaivi who has shining tresses resembling fine black sand (10),
• cool eyes with beautiful eyelids, resembling blue nelumbo flowers and whirling in the bright face (10-11),
• white teeth like the buds of arabian jasmine (முல்லை) arranged in a row and which are desired by bees (12)
• lips resembling flawless coral and looking beautiful with smile (13).
• She came to me swinging her arms so as to make the beautiful and excellent bracelets to shine and was tremulous like leaves that are shaken by the winds (14-5)
• She embraced me without contentment to rid me of the affliction and distemper (15)
• Atikaṉ keeps his word (16),
• has donations that do not fail the desires of supplicants who bring him fame (16)
• and he adorns on his wrist (17)
• with a loosening armlet (18)
• The mountain waterfalls descends down his hill from the heights, shining beautifully (23).
• It has east Indian kino trees (வேங்கைமரம்) (20),
• and jack trees which never cease from bearing fruits throught the year (19),
• to make it appear beautiful, (20).
• The falls are like the white victorious flags that are held aloft on the elephant (22)
• of pacumpūṇ paṇtiyaṉ who has an army of bowmen (21)
• The talaivi is very difficult to obtain, like the fearful celestial maidens (25)
• who reside in the middle portion o fthe high and steep mountain (24).

(நெஞ்சே)! வான் உமிழ் நடு நாள்(6) தந்தை(8) நெடு நகர் ஒருசிறை நின்ற னெனாக(9) சூரரமகளிரின் பெறற்கு அரியோள்(25) வீசி(14) நடுங்கி(15) (வந்து) நோய் அசாவீட முயங்கினள்(16); விசுதஇபடனஇ தடனஇனு சிபு நுடங்க(4) வான்(6) உருமொடு உறை சிதறிப்(5) (பெயல்) உமிழ் நடு நாள்(6) வெற்பகம் பொலிய(20) வெல்கொடி கடுப்ப(22) உயர்ந்து தோன்று அருவி(23) நெடுவரைக் கவனில்(24) (உள்ள) சூரரமகளிர்(25).

Atikaṉ was the commander of the foreces of pacumpūṇ pantiyaṉ. He lost his life when that paṇtiyaṉ waged a war with kaṅkar (கொங்கர்) This is mentioned in Kuruntokai, 393; akam, 353 4-8)

The mountain is compared to the elephant and the white waterfall to the white flag held aloft on the elephant.
