• That spurge has a shrinking shade and a heap of gravel (11)
• (In that forest) every time the violent wind which spreads everywhere, blows, the bunches of ripe seeds on the branches of uḻincil (உழிஞ்சில்) which has a short trunk and forked branches resembling the horns of the stag with spots on its body, and lines, that just appear at the bottom of the head and which are shaken, make a noise that makes one wonder, like the drum that makes an intermittant sound when beaten with a stick by the girl who performs dances. He said, `Those who are poor are incapable of protecting those who are attached to, and dependant on, them, and cannot be happy enjoying pleasure in the company of dear friends whom they love' and, he with a mind bent upon acquiring much wealth, is therefore without much grace on us.

தோழி! வாழி! (5) காடு இறந்தோர் நல்கூர்ந்தோர்(3) தாங்கி(1) கெழீஇ(2) நகுதல் ஆற்றார் எனப்(3) பொருள் நினையும் நெஞ்சமொடு அருள் பிறிது(4) ஆப(5) (என் செய்வாம்)?
