• (Companion! As our talaivar has gone from me) I dislike all things (10)
• and as I do not eat out of distress, I have become thin so that my life is slowly ebbing out (11);
• my shoulders too have lost their former beauty.(12)
• Even though I have suffered by the separation of talaivar (13)
• I am prostrate and helpless as there is no other remedy to be rid of that disease (14)
• (Therefore) I very much wish to go out like Veḷḷivīti (9-10)
• (வெள்ளி வீதி) who went searching her husband, in the forest which has branching paths and which is never ending (8).
• (In that region) the male tiger with a gaping mouth and shining spots, (6)
• hears attentively straining its ears the voice of the male of (உழை) deer which has rough horns (7)
• as its female is weak with exhaustion, after giving birth to three cubs at a time, and is besides itself with hunger, in the cave formed by the cracks of rocks (4-5).
• Those cubs have curved nails the muscular sheath of which has not dropped (4) and they resemble the fragrant leaves of east indian kino tree which blossom in the slopes of high mountains, together with bedaly (பிடவுமரம்) emetic nut tree;(1-2), and which are placed by grouping them separately (2).

(தோழி)! (தலைவர் பிரிதலால்) யான் உயிர் செல்லவும்(11), தோளும் கவின் இதாலையவும்(12), பிரிந்தோர் பெயர்வுக்கு இரங்கி(13) இருந்தும்(14) மருந்து பிறிதின்மையின்(14) (வேறு) வினை இலென் ஆயினேன் (ஆகலின்) (14) உழுவையேற்றை(6) உழை மான் குரல் ஓர்க்கும் கவலைநெறிபடு நிரம்பா நீளிடையில்(8) வெள்ளி வீதியைப் போல நன்றும்(9) செலவு அயர்ந்திசின்(10)
