• Our lover embraced the shoulders of mine who can be compared to a good country which has fields in which flowers of blue nelumbo grow (6-7).
• Those flowers spread the fragrance of new honey (6).
• He did not take pity on me and left me, for the ladies of the ancient village of great bustle to indulge in loud scandal (8-9).
• The country belongs to Kōcar who have many weapons of lances who protected aktai (அஃதை) by keeping him in a well-guarded place (4-5)
• That aktai (அஃதை) who patronized dancers, gave with joy liberally female elephants of shabby-looking heads in the battle field (3-4).
• The Kōcar protected aktai (அஃதை) because they had the sense of act upto the inmost thought of their friends by voluntarily going to their friends not forsaking their friendship even though they might have lost their wealth and fallen on evil days (1-2).
• Pāṇaṉ did not chase those who fled from the battle-field by exposing their back (17)
• He had a long lance with a handle on which fat was smeared, and a tight black band fixed to it (15)
• He had many varieties of rich food that used to be served on festive occasions (16)
• He had strong feet of ankles that did not become weak though they came into contact with stones daily (10)
• He had food kept in the wide hollow of the bamboos (11)
• Though the fortresses of his enemies were situated at a very great distance from the frontiers of his country, and though they were keeping strict guard over their cows in their fortresses, stored with plenty of food, being watchful of their enemies trying to lift the cows, he went there and after inflicting a defeat, drove the cows with the bulls having globular humps, from the enemies' countries (12-4)
• Beyond the boundary of the good country of pāṇaṉ (பாணன்) the highway robbers who killed the way-farers new to the place who travel in that way, clean the blood-stained weapons which were thrown on them (17-9)
• in the small quantity of rippling water which turns red due to this. As many people say that my lover has gone beyond the ghat where even that water is dried up and has crossed the bank of minute sand and is in a distant place (19-21)
• Let my life go to that place where my lover is engaged in his activities, by starting from here, leaving my body here alone, (26-27)
• like the bird that leaves its nest in the moving branch that shoots up from the big trunk of the tree, to make it lose its beauty, and starts for a place to which it intended to go (23-5).
• Then we will live here without weeping, so that we will be free from the heaviness of heart which is utterly helpless and prostrate (22).
