• which resemble male elephants whose ornamental ring round the tusk has been broken and deformed when they dashed into the battle-field (12)

குறுமகள்! வாழியோ(11)! முருக்கின்(2) செம்மல் தா அய்(3) முகை பிணி அவிழ்ந்த கோங்கமொடு நனை(5) அதிரல்(6) அசைஇ(5) ப்பாதிரி(6) அஞ்சினை உரித் வீதாஅய்(7) எதிர்வீ(7) மராசுமலரொடு விராஅய்(8) அணங்குடைநகரின் மணந்த பூவின்(9) கானம் நன்று நயவரும்(10); (அது) பிடி மிடை களிற்றின் தோன்றும்(13) குறுநெடுந்துணைய குன்றமும் உடைத்து(14); அம்ம(10) கண்டிசின்(11).
