TRANSLATION
- Companion (21)!
- Our mother did not know that the malady which I am suffering from,
would decrease if I come into contact with the chest of the chief of the mountain where gods reside (5-6)
- That sorrow which was made permanent to be hated us, was the effect of the bestowing
of talaivaṉ's affection as the heart of talaivaṉ become, distressed, which was formerly kind towards us
and which he gave to us out of joy without any trace of ill-will of prejudice against us,
in the portion of the mountain slope which is cool and full of fertile produces (1-4).

- the tight-fitting, and shining, bangles of exquisite workmanship (6)

- swinging his arms so as to make the stage appear beautiful, (19)
- like the puppets with contrivances which are made to dance (20)

- It my lean and weak body (23)
- does not regain its former splendour (24)
- even after the performance of veṟi by vēlaṉ (வேலன்) (23)
- as to cause distress to the confounded ladies assembled at the stage (22)
- this secret love is not difficult to be known to many to be indulged by them in public scandal.
If it is not that, (25)
- if the tall vēḷ (வேள்) grants our former beauty out of compassion (27)
- having known the sorrow which was brought by our talaivaṉ, (26)
- and if the talaivaṉ who is the chief of forest tract happens to hear (29)
- the malady from which the talaīvi who is wearing tight-fitting bangles (28)
- is due to some other cause (28)
- it is more difficult than the former one for me to continue to live (30).
