TRANSLATION
- Companion! May you live long! (5)
- My forehead is gradually changing into sallow (1).
- My body which can be compared to fresh leaves
is becoming lean and week (2)
- My distress is so apparent that it is known to all (3)
- They will come to an end only by taking away my life (4)
- what else can they do if we consider about them (4-5)?
- In the desert the big herds of female bear
which recently gave birth to young ones
eats with avidity the heaps of flowers
of mahua tree (இருப்பைமரம்)
which has a trunk of rough cracked surface (5)
- resemble bubbles in water,
which were dropped from the heaping bunches
with holes in them (7),
- to make passers-by in those paths
avoid travelling that way (8)
- our mother thinks, `The low women
are fond of spreading scandal (12)
- and talk ill about my daughter.
They are not worthy of the greatness
of my daughter and those women
do not at all think that it is natural for us
to feel sorry for our talaivar
who has gone beyond many deserts (10)
