TRANSLATION
- Companion! May you live long (4)!
- You say (4)
- "The talaivar parted from us whose forehead turned sallow, big shoulders became lean; (1),
- we became so weak for the life to go out of the body which resulted in refusing to eat on account of distress (2)
- and we have reached this stage' (3)
- Uttering many words with dislike such as "He is not a virtuous person, (4)
- do not be immersed in sorrow (5).
- Assuring you he said, `This is the season when we would return' (14).
- Our talaivar convinced you of his return (14).
- The clouds have spread themselves everywhere (15)
- See that (15).
- In the winter season when clouds come rushing, fast (13)
- the peacock with lines and spots (11)
- which wallowed itself with the fragrant flowers of (11)
- very youthful east indian kino tree (வேங்கைமரம்) which blossomed denoting the auspicious day, (10)
- in the high hill of veṅkatam belonging to tiraiyaṉ who has a victorious lance (வேல்) (9)
- where the male elephant with tender (7)
- eyes, brings the fresh sprouts of bamboos and feeds the calf (8);
- and young female elephant of soft walk and after having passed some days after calving (6)
- in the mountain slope (5),
- sits perched on the fragrant branch of green wild lime tree (குருந்தமரம்) which has buds (12),
- calls its male inviting it to come to its side (13).
