• we became so weak for the life to go out of the body which resulted in refusing to eat on account of distress (2)

• in the high hill of veṅkatam belonging to tiraiyaṉ who has a victorious lance (வேல்) (9)
• where the male elephant with tender (7)
• eyes, brings the fresh sprouts of bamboos and feeds the calf (8);
• and young female elephant of soft walk and after having passed some days after calving (6)
• in the mountain slope (5),
• sits perched on the fragrant branch of green wild lime tree (குருந்தமரம்) which has buds (12),
• calls its male inviting it to come to its side (13).

தோழி! வாழி! (5); நான் இன்னம் ஆகவும்(3) (நம் தலைவுர் நம்மைத்) துறந்தார்(3); அவர் "அறவர் அல்லர்' எனப்(4) பலபுலந்து ஆழல்; தண்கார்(13) "யாம் வருதும்' எனத் தேற்றிய(14) பருவம் அது காண்(15); மழை பாயின்று(15) யானை(7) முளைதருபு ஊட்டும்(8) வேங்கட நெடுவரை(9) நறுவீ ஆடியமஞ்ஞை(11) குருந்தின் சினையிருந்து(12) துணைப்பயிர்ந்து அகவும் கார்(13).
