TRANSLATION
- (My mind)! Even if we went beyond veṅkatam which is situated in the expansive good country (10)
- of pulli (புல்லி) who is the chief of the young hunters who know no other trade except hunting, (9)
- who tether in the doors of good liquor-houses (8)
- in the old village which has bazaars where long flags move (7-8)
- having tied securely the calves of elephants with the ropes of white barks which were peeled off in big sizes (6)
- by splitting the fertile branches of the indian oak (மராமரம்) of black trunks (5-6)
- with great bustle, and who have separated the calves of elephants
and feel jubilant on account of that to make the young female elephants having feet like mortar,
to cry aloud out of sorrow in the forest (3)
- having adorned on their heads having curls of hair like the hair-plume of horses,
prominently with the fresh flowers of indian oak (மராமரம்) which have petals arranged clock-wise
and which spread their fragrance throughout the desert (1),
- the qualities of our loving wife who has cool eyes of excessive beauty (14)
- which are like the bright flowers (12)
- of blue nelumbo (நெய்தற் பூ) which relaxes the tightness of its petals when blossoming (13),
- appeared before us by being driven by love, (12)
- not thinking that we are in a distant country (11)
