TRANSLATION
- My heart! May you live long! (11)
- In the broad forest (9)
- the colourful dust raised by the hoofs of red coloured cows belonging to Koṅkar (கொங்கர்) in the red soil (5-7)
- forming a herd and wearing clinking bells [??that spoing in the much??](MS UNREADABLE) of the saltish wells
go with erect head to drink water near the place where hard ground had been broken (4)
- which has been dug by cutting rocks (3)
- for sparks of fire to rise (2)
- and by digging the stones by the strong armed male workers who carried bundles of cooked rice (1)
- and who were bent upon their work of digging wells, (2)
- appears visible in the broad and big sky increasingly (8).
- You who parted from talaivi on account of love of wealth which is transient (16),
- by going in the path where stones are to be seen shining (16)
- where the female kite (12)
- which has white eyes, a bending beak and dark feathers (11)
- invites its male for a long time in the never-ending long place (14-5)
- where the hunters who have a drum (துடி) of beautiful face,
and harsh sound which is produced every time they dance, (13)
- and a bent bow, (14)
- march into the desert where they besiege their enemies (14).

- and go in the desert according to the best of our ability (10)
- and regret as soon as we came so far and stayed here (10-11)
