• which has been deserted by the inhabitants everywhere leaving their dwellings (6)
• as the clouds which produce thunder have failed (5),
• and which is praised by many referring to its former greatness (6)

• There the kite (எருவை) of red ears (11)
• removes the intestines of fearless warriors (10)
• who fell in battle, gaining victory over their enemies to be feared by them in a fair fight (9)

• like those people who carefully remove the seal on the pot (8)
• and draw out the palmyra (8)

• from that pot which is tied with ropes, in order to examine those leaves (7).

• in the spotted shade of the white fig tree (இத்திமரம்) of ugly looking trunk (13)
• in the small villages (12)
• these eyes of this lady from which tears are always trickling (19)
• will give you unbearable (19)
• pain like the flawless lance which has the shape of a leaf (18)
• and which is held abaft [??] in the hard battles fought with enemy kings (17)
