TRANSLATION
- Companion! May you live long (16)
- (In the evening) swarms
of bees abandon the flowers in the mountain springs
and go to the flowers in the branches of trees,
like those unprincipled people without love
who leave the people of decreased wealth
as they cannot derive any benefit from them
and go with a mind in search of people with plenty of wealth (1-4).
- The herds of deer without any fault suffer (5)
- The sky appears red like the lustre of gold
which is melted in crucibles and allowed to cool down slowly (5-6)
- The broad and big sky puts forth beautiful clouds
of different colours and gives distress
which makes one prostrate by removing the wonderful intelligence (8)
- (the knowledge got through the five senses).
The evening which brings distress
sent away the sun (9)
- It does not stop from giving me pain
like those people who throw the sharp lance
aiming at the rare chest of people
who suffer unbearable pain;
even as I am suffering from the separation of my lover (10-12).
- My strength must die diminishing gradually
like the vapour that is blown on a mirror
which reflects images of objects
and which is made perfect without reproach (13-15)
- Is this the time when my life
having undergone much suffering,
will leave my body like the bird
which abandons the tree in which it is living
when it is violently shaken by a strong whirlwind? (16-8)
