• Again I said, `Furthermore the thunder struck against and rent the swing in our garden mistaking it to be a serpent, which was tied in the high branch of indian mast tree (செயலைமரம்) which has bright leaves which appear as if they are dyed with wax. Did you hear it? (4-8)
• Twice I said these things to test mother's sleep. Even then our mother did not know these things and she was in sound sleep. In addition to that at this time all other permanent animate beings were fast asleep (9-10)

தோழி! வாழி(14)! "அன்னாய்!வாழி! கேட்டியோ! எனவும்(4), "பின்னும் கேட்டியோ' எனவும்(8) (நம்) அன்னையும்(9) அறியாள்(8), கனைதுயில் மடிந்தனள்(9); அதன் தலை மன்னுயிர் மடிந்தன்று பொழுது(10); காதலர்(10) வருவராயின் பருவம் இது என(11) நெகிழ்ந்த நம் வயின்(12) படர்ந்த உள்ளம் பழுதன்றாகிச்(13) சுரம்(21) (தலைவர்) வந்தனல்(14).
