• As the new kings have heaped rare and costly jewels as tribute our king's cruel enemity has been pacified, (1-2)
• The clouds too have poured the pleasant rain with great thunders (2-3).
• Charioteer (6)!
• May you drive the chariot in the red soil which has cochineal insects, resembling in colour a picture, so that its strong wheels roll by sinking into the loose soil (3-6)
• In the evening when the buds open their petals (12)
• and the herds of milk cows having bells tied to their necks and producing sound, return to each and every house walking fast with quick paces with a bellowing voice (8-9)
• to suckle their young calves which are tethered by ropes and which have proud gait, from their udder swollen with milk. They are followed by shepherds who have a hollow fold answering for a pocket in their cloth tied round their waist, for putting leaves plucked in the forest, and a stick to drive the herd, play on the flute made from the fruit of indian laburnum (கொன்றைமரம்), and who walk with slow paces. (10-12)
• (In the evening) our wife who can be compared to a blossomed creeper, speaks words as sweet as the sweet taste which is enjoyed by people who eat the completely matured fruits of emblic myrobalan of small leaves (நெல்லிமரம்) and small seeds, in the garden of paṇṇaṉ at siṟukuti, who does not live for himself alone but only for others, and then drink water. (13-16)
• (She utters sweet words) ""Young crescent moon shining brightly just budding. If you come here thinking of my son who is adorned with a necklet (தாலி) made of gold I shall give you also milk to drink!'' She looks setting her eyes askance which seem to fight with each other and invites with her fingers her son several times. (17-20)
