• The great fire which attacked bamboos with waving fertile tops to produce a sound, rose sideways and raged with flames and made the whirl-wind to become hot (4-5).
• It leaps to nearby mountains which have clefts and caves (6)
• As it does so, the loud noise produced by the cracking of joints of the bamboos combining together simultaneously scared away the herd of stags in the desert which has many battle-front (6-8).
• We shall cross over that desert slowly (8)
• The big sun goes down in the western mountain and disappears (9)
• Then housewives wearing bright bracelets fix the white wick in the lamps and light them (9-10).
• On seeing that the red-legged male pigeon which hops short paces, calls its loving female in the extensive mansion of tall storeys. The evening sets in with solitude and distress (11-13)
• In that evening our talaivi unable to control her grief will be weeping, thinking `Where is my talaivar now?' (14).
• We shall reach her whose big shoulders are like the bamboos growing in the ciṟumalai mountain on which clouds seem to crawl, where in the adjoining hills convolvulus (கூதளம்) is spreading its fragrance and which belongs to the munificent Ceḻiyaṉ who has tall chariots adorned with all ornamentations (15-18).
• If we have finished our duty here with the help of the non-exhausting mind which is increasingly persevering, (1-2)
• my mind! (3)
• may you live long! Rise now (3)
• very quickly (2)
• Let us embracee the talaivi many times in order to remove the affliction and distemper which has spread on her shoulders (18-19).
