• Let the māmai (மாமை change its colour like the beautiful flowers of sponge gourd (பீரம்) by the spreading of beautiful and minute sallowness (பசலை) (6-7).
• The noise of scandal born out of it is like the tumultuous uproar by the dancers in singing the fame on the battle field of Kurukkai (குறுக்கை) when Aṉṉi (a chieftain) felled down and cut into pieces the big trunk of the old mast wood tree (புன்னை) belonging to Titiyaṉ (8-12)
• Shall I, who is without sleep because of the fearful sorrow like the people inside a single battered defence of a fortress which became possessed with fear in the valourous battle front of Vāṉavarampaṉ who has a good lance by which he made the sea recede, and a garland made of gold, wander like Ātimanti and search for my husband whom I could not find?

காதலர் காடு இறந்தனர்(6); மாமை(6) மலர் புரைதல் வேண்டும்(18); அலர்(8) குறுக்கைப் பறந்தலை(9) ஆர்ப்பிறும் பெரிது(12); யான்(12) அஞ்சுவருநோயொடு துஞ்சாதேனாய்(19) ஆதிமந்திபோலக்(14) காதலற்கொடுத்த சிறுமையொடு(13) அலந்தனென் உழல்வெனோ(15)?
