(8)!
- In the forest rivers which flows swiftly
the colour of the water is concealed
by the beautiful flowers which drop into it profusely,
and they become old
(1-2).
- (In that river) there are whirlpools
which dash upon the rocks and recede
and which abound in crocodiles
(3).
- Having swum the frightful floods
which dash against the musty male elephants
which are not moving with their females and calves,
and drag them by its force;
(4-5)
- Having crossed and reached the bank without trembling,
like the fearless pig and crossing and difficult
and fearful ghat
(துறை),
are there people who would come to such a place
as this at dead of night?
(6-8).
- My friend will not survive even
on the next day if perchance
some mishap befalls you on a particular day
(9-10).
- Even people who travel many times
in the paths in which there are absolutely
no obstacles quickly lose their way
(11-12).

undergo suffering
(12-13).
- Even if you come by day in the beautiful bush
of malabar glory lily plants
which is inside a dense grove of trees
from which fruits are hanging in the long mountain
of high peaks adjoining our garden,
where the bees have constructed round bee-hive
(13-16)
- you can embrace the soft and big shoulders
which were brought up protected by the mother
and which resemble the middle portions
between two joints of a bending bamboo
growing in the broad mountain
(16-18).
