Translation

• My mother has more intense attachment towards the talaivi than she has towards her eyes (1)
• our father too, (if he sees her going anywhere) cannot brook the sight of her walking bare-footed on the earth and says, `ila! (இல) young girl! what makes you walk, for your small feet to turn red (2-3).
• We too have only one like the mythological bird with two heads that has only life running in it, because of the sweet friendship by which we have become united without being divided (5)

• when the people who guard the millet (தினை) make a loud noise without stopping; the parrots invite their kind by their sounds (6-7);
• The inhabitants of the hill have constructed huts in order to enjoy the ripe fruits hanging in the branches of jack-trees (9).
• The elephant which has spots on its face being afraid of the appearance of east indian kino tree flowers from which honey is dripping, having spread (on the huts) and covered them, mistaking it to be tiger, returns so that bamboos in the adjoining hills covered with clouds, are trampled by their legs and destroyed (10-12).
• If you come to the appointed secret place at night (Note?? natured lady will not survive (13-14)

-The talaimakaṉ who was coming to the appointed secret place at day was informed by the companion about restraint in the house when he said "I shall come to the appointed secret place by night and then marry her", the companion refused that too and urged marriage.
