• The village, counting the boats that come
• when light falls, mounting the heaps of salt together with the companions
• with bangles in rows who rested after having borne the waves,
• on account of him[FNote_69]
• it sings with gossip, in its singular cruelty.
• Don't slap her who did not look [at him?] desirously(?) with [her] whirling
• rain eyes - live, mother, you [just] have to.
• As for [his] having joined [us] in diffuse evening,
• here, having come with choice speed(?)[FNote_70],
• resting in the excellent sand of the noisy/sweet(?)[FNote_71] seashore grove,
• while the horses with bells in rows were restrained in [their] fast gait,
• toiling ones, suffering in the confinement that diminuished the amount of [their] grace,
• so that the charioteer stops(?) [them], as strong sharks were dashing [at them],[FNote_72]
• attacking, as is proper [for them?], those who do not enter the dark backwaters,
• of vast area,
• he has not,
• - he who has the right of also roaming the nearby sea,[FNote_73]
• although the waves were rolling, with the cold wind, the coming of foam,
• on one day, so that the new egrets retreated,
• perched close to the branches of the Puṉṉai trees in the grove of tall tree-tops.
