- As the seashore grove does not murmur and the backwaters do not talk
- and the Puṉṉai tree with fragrant blossoms humming with honey [bees][FNote_62] does not speak,
- apart from you I have no one else.
- You who belong to the man from the ghat[FNote_63], where the group of bees filled
- with cool pollen ascends on [their] wings, delight being superior [elsewhere][FNote_64],
- yearning, as for amṛta, for the nectar from the fragrant petals
- of the eye-like blue water-lilies that have come into bloom in the dark backwaters,
- it is necessary indeed to speak [to him], crab:
- "She who removed the distress you have,
- at deepest midnight, when the small crow of the sea,
- languishing with trouble on the way-giving Kaitai branch, many times(?),
- dreams, along with [its] desired female, of white prawns
- from the extension, hunt forgotten(?)[FNote_65], where sword-fish are roaming,
- will she cross the distress she has?"
