• As the seashore grove does not murmur and the backwaters do not talk
• and the Puṉṉai tree with fragrant blossoms humming with honey [bees][FNote_62] does not speak,
• apart from you I have no one else.
• You who belong to the man from the ghat[FNote_63], where the group of bees filled
• with cool pollen ascends on [their] wings, delight being superior [elsewhere][FNote_64],
• yearning, as for amṛta, for the nectar from the fragrant petals
• of the eye-like blue water-lilies that have come into bloom in the dark backwaters,
• it is necessary indeed to speak [to him], crab:
• "She who removed the distress you have,
• at deepest midnight, when the small crow of the sea,
• languishing with trouble on the way-giving Kaitai branch, many times(?),
• dreams, along with [its] desired female, of white prawns
• from the extension, hunt forgotten(?)[FNote_65], where sword-fish are roaming,
• will she cross the distress she has?"
