• Even when the quick fish are swelling in the dark backwaters of the long water,
• the sea having ceased singing(?), the boats having left,
• even if hot-mouthed women are spreading scandal,
• repeatedly(?) he is coming indeed, the man from the coast of dewy water,
• as one who does not depart from our side even at midday,
• while [his] long chariot with glorious jewels is standing in delay.
• Now,[FNote_14]
• without saying "who [is] he to us, the one who does not come,
• having swum passion difficult to unite[FNote_15], so that it departs?",
• going secretly to the unhappy old village,
• what if you said, bard:
• "what shall I do with the young woman of bright forehead,
• who hides that [her] eyes give water in abundance,
• [expressing]: 'look at the Aṉṟil's, with drooping beak in the palmyra trees
• joining the house, not sleeping at night even if separated once(?) from [its] mate'?"
