1 nalam koḷ muttum maṇiyum _aṇiyum tiraḷ _ōtam kalaṅkaḷtaṉṉil koṇṭu karai cēr kalik kāḻi,
In kāḻi of great bustle where the ships that sail on the accumulated waves, reach the shore with beautiful pearls, other precious stones and ornaments,

praising:
``valam koḷ maḻu _oṉṟu _uṭaiyāy!'' {[a]}
``one who possesses a victorious battle axe!''
``viṭaiyāy!'' {[b1]}
``one who has a bull''

the disease of birth which cannot be cured by other means

_alaṅkal cūṭṭa vallārkku [[A1]]
will not reach those who can adorn the god with garlands

2. _ūr _ār _uvaric caṅkam vaṅkam {V-}koṇṭu{-V}
Having been brought by the ships, the conches of the sea which move slowly,
kār _ār _ōtam
the waves of the sea from which clouds draw their water
karaimēl _uyarttum kalik kāḻi,
in Kāḻi of great bustle where they are heaped to a great height on the shore,
``nīr _ār caṭaiyāy! neṟṟikkaṇṇā!'' _eṉṟu_eṉṟu pēr_āyiramum pitaṟṟa, tīrum, piṇitāṉē.
all diseases will be removed if one babbles all the thousand names without ceasing, praising the god as: ``one who has on his caṭai water! one who has a frontal eye!''
3. vaṭi koḷ poḻilil maḻalai varivaṇṭu _icaiceyya,
When the tender bees with lines on their bodies hum like music in the gardens which are maintained in perfect condition,
kaṭi koḷ pōtil-teṉṟal _aṇaiyum kalik kāḻi,
in Kāḻi of great bustle where the balmy southern breeze comes in contact with the buds of fragrance just before they unfold their petals,
``muṭi koḷ caṭaiyāy! mutalvā!'' _eṉṟu muyaṉṟu _ētti,
having praised with the aid of their virtue done in previous births the god as: ``one who has dressed the caṭai as a crown! the first cause! (the origin of all things!)''
_aṭi kaitoḻuvārkku _illai, _allal _avalamē.
there will be no anxiety and suffering for those who worship his feet with their hands.
4. maṉaikkē _ēṟa
To enter into the houses,
vaḷam cey pavaḷam vaḷar muttam kaṉaikkum kaṭaluḷ _ōtam _ēṟum kalik kāḻi,
in Kāḻi of great bustle where the waves of the roaring sea rise to push the mature coral and mature pearls,
``paṉaikkaip pakaṭṭu _īr_uriyāy! periyāy!'' _eṉap pēṇi,
having cherished with love the god as: ``one who has a skin {of} wet with the blood of an elephant whose trunk is like the palmyra! great person!''
niṉaikka valla _aṭiyār neñcil nallār [*ē*].
the devotees who are able think him as such, are people having good minds.
5. paruti _iyaṅkum pāril
in this world where the sun moves,
cīr _ār paṇiyālē karuti viṇṇōr maṇṇōr virumpum kalik kāḻi,
in Kāḻi of great bustle where the celestials and inhabitants of this world desire to gather, having in their minds the eminent service to the god,
curuti maṟaināṉku_āṉa cemmai taruvāṉaik karuti
thinking of him who gave the eminent works of maṟai (vētam) which is memorized by hearing (and not written)
_eḻumiṉ,
wake up from your sleep! people of this world!
vaḻuvā vaṇṇam! tuyar pōm [*ē*].
all the suffering will go away without fail.
6. mantam maruvum poḻilil _eḻil _ār matu _uṇṭu,
Having drunk the sweet honey in the parks where the slow-moving southern breeze is staying,
kantam maruva, varivaṇṭu _icaicey kalik kāḻi,
in Kāḻi of great bustle where the bees having lines on them hum like music as they have come into contact with fragrance,
``pantam nīṅka _aruḷum paraṉē!'' _eṉa _ēttic cintaiceyvār
those devotees who meditate upon god praising him ``Most exalted one who bestows his grace, to remove all bondage''
cemmai nīṅkātu _iruppārē.
are those who stand firmly in the path of righteousness.
7. puyal _ār pūmi nāmam_ōti,
Having repeated the names of God in the world fed by rain,
pukaḻ malka, kayal _ār kaṇṇār paṇ _ār _olicey kalik kāḻip
in Kāḻi of great bustle where the ladies whose eyes are comparable to the carp fish produce the sound of music to spread the fame of god,
payilvāṉtaṉṉaip patti _ārat toḻutu _ētta muyalvārtammēl,
on those who try to worship and praise the god who is permanent so that their devotion may become satisfactory,
vemmaik kūṟṟam muṭukātu [*ē*].
the cruel god of death will not hasten (to smatch their lives)
8. _arakkaṉ muṭitōḷ neriya _aṭarttāṉ,
God who pressed down to crush the heads and shoulders of arakkaṉ (iravaṇaṉ)
_aṭiyārkkuk karakkakillātu _aruḷcey perumāṉ,
and who grants his grace to his devotees without being able to conceal it,
kalik kāḻip
in Kāḻi of great bustle,
parakkum pukaḻāṉtaṉṉai _ēttip paṇivārmēl, perukkum, _iṉpam;
hapiness will increase for people who praise and worship him whose fame spreads everywhere,
tuṉpam_āṉa piṇi pōm [*ē*].
diseases which are the causes for sufferings will vanish.
9. māṇ_āy _ulakam koṇṭa mālum
Māl who received the world as a gift in the form of a bachelor (from Māvali)
malarōṉum
and the piramaṉ seated in the (lotus) flower,
kāṇā vaṇṇam _eri_āy nimirntāṉ,
He who shot up as a column of fire so as not to be seen (by them),

pūṇ _ār mulaiyāḷ paṅkattāṉai, pukaḻntu _ētti,
praising and worshipping the god who has on one half a lady who wears ornaments on her breasts,
kōṇā neñcam _uṭaiyārkku [[C1]]
kuṟṟam [*ē*] [[C3]]
_illai, [[C2]]
there will be no pain for those whose minds do not deviate from the path of virtue.
10. ariyāṉ [D3]
God who is difficult to be recognized by
_añci _allal moḻintu tirivār _amaṇ_ātar, [[D1]]
the ignorant camaṇar who speak distressing words behind the back, being afraid of saying them to the face, and wander
kañci kālai _uṇpārkku, [[D2]]
and by the buddhists who have their morning gruel
(kañci: liquid food),
kalik kāḻit
in Kāḻi of great bustle,
tañcam_āya talaivaṉ; taṉṉai niṉaivārkaḷ,
those who think of god as their refuge,
tuñcal _illā nalla _ulakam peṟuvār [*ē*].
will attain the good world of bliss which does not know destruction.
11. _ūḻi_āya pāril _ōṅkum _uyar celvak kāḻi _īcaṉ kaḻalē pēṇum campantaṉ,
Campantaṉ who cherishes with regard only the feet of Civaṉ in Kāḻi having indestructible wealth, which floated above the floods of the deluge in this world which is destroyed at the end of the aeon,
tāḻum maṉattāl, _uraitta tamiḻkaḷ_ivai vallār,
those who are able to say the Tamiḻ verses composed with a mind engrossed in God
vāḻi nīṅkā vāṉōr_ulakil makiḻvār [*ē*].
will dwell in heaven which they will not leave.
