Civaṉ is the source of all things.
ஆதிரையன்
he has the star Ātirai as his favourite star.
அயன்மால் அறிதற்கு அரிய சோதியன்
is the light that Ayaṉ and Māl could not know.

சுருங்கா மறைநான்கினையும் ஓதியன்
he recited with the proper intonation the four elaborate vētams.
உம்பர் தம் கோன்
is the chief of the celestials in heaven.
உலகத்தினுள் எவ்வுயிர்க்கும் நாதியன் நம்பெருமான் நண்ணும் ஊர் நனிபள்ளி (அதே)
naṉipaḷḷi is the place that our Lord who is the chief of all living being in this world, dwells.

Civaṉ has no relations attached to him
ஊனம் இலி
has no defects
உணரார்புரம் மூன்று எரியச் செறுவி(ல்)லி
is an archer who destroyed the three cities of those who did not esteem him by burning them
தன் நினைவார்வினை ஆயின தேய்ந்து அழிய அறஇலகும் அருளான்
has pre-eminent grace to make the Karmams of people who meditate upon him to decrease and perish.
மருள் ஆர்(1) பொழில் வண்டு அறையும் நறவிரிகொன்றையினான் நண்ணும் ஊர் நனிபள்ளி (அதே)
naṉipalli is the place of Civaṉ who wears koṉṟai flowers which blossom with honey, where in the wonderful gardens bees hum in a high pitch.

{$} வான் உடையான் பெரியான்; மனத்தாலும் நினைப்பு அரியான்
Civaṉ has the heaven as his abode, is greater than all other gods; could not be comprehended even by the mind.
ஆணிடை ஐந்து அமர்ந்தான்
desired the five products obtained from the cow.
அணு ஆகி
being the minute atom
ஓர் தீ உருக்கொண்டு
assuming the form of fire
இவ்வுடலம் ஒடுங்கிப் புகுந்தான், பரந்தான்
entered into this body shinking himself, pervaded everywhere
நானுடை(ய) மாடு
is my wealth
எம்பிரான்
is our master
நண்ணும் ஊர்நனிபள்ளி (அது)
the place where he dwells is naṉipaḷḷi.

{$} கலனா ஓடு உடையன்
Civaṉ has a skull as eating vessel
(கலன்: உண்கலன்)
உடைகோவணவன்
has as dress a loin-cloth
உமை ஓர்பாடு உடையன்
has Umai on one side
பலி தேர்ந்து உண்ணும் பண்பு உடையன்
has the nature of eating food by begging alms.
பயிலக்காடு உடையன்
has the cremation ground to dwell
இடமா (க) மலை ஏழும் கருங்கடல்சூழ் நாடு உடை நம் பெருமான் நண்ணும் ஊர் நனிபள்ளி(அது)
naṉipaḷḷi is the place which our Lord who has the seven countries girt by the black oceans, and the seven important mountains, as his places
[[நாடு here means islands; seven islands are formed in hindu mythology. ஏழும் should be added to நாடு also.]]

{$} பண்ணற்கு அரியது ஒரு ஆழிப்படைதனைப் படைத்து
producing the weapon of a discus which is difficult to make.
கண்ணற்கு அருள் புரிந்தான்
granted it to Kaṇṇaṉ
[[Kaṇṇaṉ is used in the sense of Māl. As the discus granted to Māl is not like the one made in this world, it is qualified as பண்ணற்கரியது ஒரு ஆழிப்படை);]]

கருதாதவர் வேள்வி அவி உண்ணற்கு இமையவரை உருண்டு ஓட உதைத்து உகந்து
be...... great by kicking to make the celestials who had gathered to eat the offering made in the fire of the sacrifice that takkaṉ who did not esteem Civaṉ, performed, roll on the floor, and then granted his grace to them.

{$} மல்கிய செஞ்சடை மேல் மதியும் அரவும் உடனே புல்கிய ஆரணன்
the origin of all the vētam who has a body in which the crescent and the cobra are very close to each other, on the growing red caṭai.

புரிநூல் விகிர்தன்
one who is different from the world and wears a sacred thread of three stands.
மெல்கிய விற்றொழிலான் விருப்பன் பெரும் பார்த்தனுக்கு நல்கிய நம்பெருமான் நண்ணும் ஊர் நனிபள்ளி (அது, ஏ)
naṉipaḷḷi is the place where our Lord who granted a weapon, pācupatam, to the great pārttaṉ who had love towards Civaṉ, fighting with him with a slight show of archery.

{$} அங்கம் ஓர் ஆறு (அவையும்) அரு மாமறை வேள்விகளும் எங்கும் இருந்து அந்தணர் எரி மூன்று (அவை) ஓம்பும் இடம்
the place where the brahmins who have mastered the six aṅkams and the great and abstruse vētams and sacrifices, .... them in adition to maintaining the three sacrificial fires everywhere.
பங்கய மாமுகத்தாள் உமைபங்கன் உறை கோயில் செங்கயல் பாயும் வயல் (1) திருஊர் நனிபள்ளி (அது, ஏ)
is naṉipaḷḷi of great wealth where red carp fish leaps in the fields and has a temple in which the Lord who has Umai whose face is like the lotus flower, as a half.

Civaṉ has a crescent which is like a chaplet

நங்கண் பிணிகளைவான்
in order to remove the diseases of Karmams which are with us.

ஏழ்பிறப்பும் அருமாமருந்து
he is the great and rare remedy in the seven births.
வல் அரக்கனையும் மங்கத்திருவிரலால் அடர்த்தான்
pressed down by his toe even the strong arakkaṉ to diminish in strength.
நங்கட்கு அருளும் பிரான் நண்ணும் ஊர்நனி பள்ளி (அது, ஏ)
naṉipaḷḷi is the place of the master who bestows his grace on us.

{$} ஏனம் மருப்பினொடும் எழில் ஆமையும் பூண்டு உகந்து
adorning himself with joy a beautiful shell of the tortoise and a hog's tusk.
வானம் மதில் அரணம் மலையே சிலையா வளைத்தான்
destroyed the forts that wandered in the sky by bending the mountain into a bow.
ஊனம் இல் காழி தன்னுள் உயர் ஞானசம்பந்தர்க்கு அன்று ஞானம் அருள் புரிந்தான் நண்ணும் ஊர் நனிபள்ளி (அது, ஏ)
naṉipaḷḷi is the place of Civaṉ who granted knowledge of Civaṉ to the superior Ñāṉacampantar in the past in Kāḻi which knew not destruction even at the time when all things were destroyed.

{$} காலமும் (1) நாழிகையும்
When time will pass off every twenty four minutes

குளிர் நாவல ஊரன் நனிபள்ளி மனத்தின் உள்கிக் கோலம் அது ஆயவனைச் சொன்ன மாலை மதித்து உரைப்பார்
those who recite the garland of verse composed on the Lord who is the embodiment of grace, by Ūraṉ of cool Nāvalūr, thinking in his mind about Naṉipaḷḷi, with reverence.
மண்மறந்து வானோர் உலகில் நல்இன்பம் எய்தித் தவலோகத்து இருப்பார்
will dwell in civalokam, after enjoying very much, pleasures in the heaven; forgetting being born in this world.
