{$} பாட்டும் பாடிப் பரவித் திரிவார் ஈட்டும் வினைகள் தீர்ப்பார் கோயில்
The temple of Civaṉ who destroys the accumulated acts of those who wander praising the fame of Civaṉ in verse and prose of ordinary people.

காட்டும் கலமும் திமிலும் கரைக்கே ஓட்டும் திரைவாய் ஒற்றியூர்
is Oṟṟiyūr which has waves which drive the big ships that are seen on the ocean and small boats ((used for fishing)) to the shore.

{$} பந்தும் கிளியும் பயிலும் பாவை சிந்தை கவர்வார் செந்தீவண்ணர்
Civaṉ who captivates the minds of the beautiful Umai who always plays with balls and parrots has a colour like the fire
எம் தம் அடிகள் இறைவர்க்கு இடம்(போல்) உந்தும் திரைவாய் ஒற்றியூரே
is Oṟṟiyūr on the waves which pushes many precious things and which is the place of our god and supreme being.

{$} பவளக் கனிவாய்ப் பாவை பங்கன்
Civaṉ has on one half a beautiful lady whose lips are like coral and the fruit of the common creeper of the hedge.
கவளக் களிற்றின் உரிவை போர்த்தான்
covered himself with the skin of an elephant which eats mouthful of food to its satisfaction.
தவழும் மதிசேர் சடையாற்கு இடம்(போல்) உகளும் திரைவாய் ஒற்றியூரே
Oṟṟiyūr which has rolling waves is the place of the god who has on his caṭai a crescent which crawls.

{$} என்னது எழிலும் நிறையும் கவர்வான்
Civan with the intention of capturing my strength of mind and beauty.
ளபுன்னை மலரும் புறவில் திகழும்ன தன்னை முன்னம் நினைக்கத் தருவான்
he offers himself to meditate upon.
உன்னப் படுவான் புன்னை மலரும் புறவில் திகழும் ஒற்றியூரே
is Oṟṟiyūr of the god who is meditated upon by devotees, in that way, which shines in the sea-shore garden where the mustwood tree blossoms.

{$} பணம் கொள் அரவம் பற்றிப் பரமன்
the supreme god; catches hold of a cobra which has a hood.
கணங்கள் சூழக் கபாலம் ஏந்தி
holding a skull surrounded by the hosts of pūtams.
வணங்கும் இடைமென் மடவார் இட்ட உணங்கல் கவர்வான் ஒற்றியூரே
Oṟṟiyūr is the place of Civaṉ who receives the food given by the gentle ladies who have a bending waist.

{$} படை ஆர் மழுவன்
Civaṉ has the weapon of a battle-axe.
பால் வெண்ணீற்றன்
smears himself with sacred ash as white a milk.
விடையார் கொடியன்
has a flag of a bull.
வேத நாவன்
always chants the Vētam-s.
அடைவார் வினைகள் அறுப்பான்
completely destroys the acts of those who approach him.
என்னை உடையான் உறையும் ஒற்றியூர்
Oṟṟiyūr is the place where Civaṉ who has me as his protege dwells without leaving that place.
{7:91}__7+
{$} (1) சென்று புரங்கள் தீயில் வேவ வென்ற விகிர்தன்
Civan who is different from the world and gained a victory over the cities to make them burn in fire, going to their places;
[[it is a more valourous act to gain a victory in the enemies territory]]
[[தந்தை தம்மூர் ஆங்கண் தெண்கணை கறங்கச் சென்று ஆண்டு அட்டன்னே (puṟam, 78-11-12);
சென்று அங்குத் தென் இலங்கை செற்றாய் திறல் போற்றி
செற்றார் திறல் அழியச் சென்று செருச்செய்யும் குற்றம் ஒன்று இல்லாத கோவலர் (tiruppāvai, 11,24)]]
வினையை வீட்ட நன்றும் நல்ல நாதன்
the master who is good enough to destroy in a large measure, the acts of his devotees.
நரை ஏறு ஒன்றையுடையான் ஒற்றியூரே
and who has a white bull dwells in Oṟṟiyūr without leaving it.

{$} கலவ மயில்போல் வளைக்கை நல்லார் பலரும் பரவும் பவளப் படியான்
Civaṉ has a red body like coral, which is praised by many ladies who are as gentle as the peacock with a tail and who wear bangles.
உலகின் உள்ளார் வினைகள் தீர்ப்பான் உலவும் திரைவாய் ஒற்றியூரே
is in Oṟṟiyūr on the shore of the ocean in which waves are moving, and removes the acts of the people of this world.

{$} பற்றி வரையை எடுத்த அரக்கன் இற்று முரிய விரலால் அடர்த்தார்
Civaṉ pressed down with a single toe the arakkaṉ who caught hold of the mountain and lifted it, to be bent and be broken.
ஓதம் ஒற்றும் திரைவாய் ஒற்றியூர்
Though Civaṉ dwells in Oṟṟiyūr on the shore where the waves come into contact.
எற்றும் வினைகள் தீர்ப்பார்
will remove the acts which attack the devotees wherever they are.

{$} ஒற்றி ஊரும் அரவும் பிறையும் பற்றி ஊரும் பவளச் சடையார்
Civaṉ who has a caṭai as red as coral in which the cobra and crescent crawl to rub against each other and having the caṭai as their support.
ஒற்றியூர்மேல் ஊரன் உரைத்த கற்றுப்பாடக் கழியும் வினையே
the acts of those who learn and sing the verses which were spoken in praise of Oṟṟiyūr by Ārūraṉ, will come to an end.
