{$} மாடம் மாளிகை கோபுரத்தொடு மண்டபம் வளரும் (திருப்பனையூர்)
(Tiruppaṉaiyūr) where upper storeyed mansions, tower gates and halls are increasing in numbers.
வளர்பொழில் பாடல் வண்டு அறையும் பழனத் திருப்பனையூர்
in Tiruppaṉaiyūr which has fields in which bees hum in a high pitch like music, and has thriving gardens.
தோடுபெய்து ஒருகாதினில், (ஒருகாதினில்) குழை தூங்க
having worn one ear a women's ear-ring and in the other mens'ear-ring to hang low.
தொண்டர்கள் துள்ளிப் பாட நின்று ஆடுமாறு வல்லார்
Civaṉ who is able to dance standing when the devotees sing, leaping with ecstasy.
அவரே அழகியர்
only he is more beautiful than other gods.

in addition to champak trees, good jasmine of good fragrance fragrant purple Indian water-lily flowers.
சேறு செய் கழனிப் பழனத் திருப்பனையூர்
in Tiruppaṉaiyūr which has tanks and fields with mire.
நீறு பூசிநெய் (1) ஆடி(த்)
smearing himself with sacred ash and bathing in ghee.
(2) தம்மை நினைப்பவர்தம் (3) மனத்தர் ஆகி நின்று
seated permanently in the minds of those who meditate upon him.
ஆறுசூடவல்லார்
Civaṉ is capable of bearing the river Kaṇkai on his head.

பைங்கண் வாளைகள்பாய் பழனத் திருப்பனையூர்
in Tiruppaṉaiyūr which has tanks into which green-eyed scabbard fish leap.
திங்கள் சூடிய செல்வனார் அடியார் தம் மேல் வினைதீர்ப்பராய்விடில்
as the god who wears a crescent will definitely destroy the karmams of his devotees.

When the scabbard fish leaps.
மலங்கு இளங்கயல்
true eel and young carp
வரிவரால் உகளும் (1) கழனியுள்
and the murrel with lines rolls upside down in the fields.
பாளை ஒண்கமுகம் புடைசூழ்திருப்பனையூர்
in Tiruppaṉaiyūr where bright areca-palms with spathes surround on all sides.
தோளும் ஆகமும் தோன்ற நட்டமிட்டு ஆடுவார்
Civaṉ who dances according to rules when his shoulders and chest are visible.
அடித்தொண்டர் தங்களை (2) ஆளுமாறு வல்லார்
is capable of admitting the devotees of his feet, to his grace.

as many ladies with breasts dive into the water and bathe.

பங்கயம் மலரும் பழனத் திருப்பனையூர்
in Tiruppaṉaiyūr where lotus flowers unfold their petals.
மங்கை பாகமும் மால் ஓர் பாகமும் (தாம்) உடையவர்
Civaṉ who has one half of a lady and Māl also as a half.
மான் மழுவினொடு அங்கைத்தீ உகப்பார்
holds with desire in his palm a deer, a battle-axe, and fire.

{$} காவிரிபுடைசூழ் சோணாட்டவர் (தாம்) பரவிய (1) கருணை அம்கடல்
Civaṉ being the ocean of benignity who is praised by the people of the cola country surrounded everywhere by the Kāviri.
பாவிரி புலவர் பயிலும் திருப்பனையூர்
in Tiruppaṉaiyūr where poets who expound in detail poems, are crowded.
மா இரி நோக்கி அஞ்ச மதகரி உரி போர்த்து உகந்தவர்
one who become eminent by covering himself with the skin of a frenzied elephant, when the lady with looks the defeat the looks of the deer, is seized with fear.
ஆவில் ஐந்து உகப்பார்
and who rejoices in being bathed in the five products of the cow.

when the peacocks dance on the trees (spreading their tails)
மாடமாளிகை கோபுரத்தின்மேல் திரங்கல்வன்முகவன் புகப்பாய் திருப்பனையூர்
in Tiruppaṉaiyūr where the monkeys with wrinkled skin jump to enter into the mansions with storeys and tower-gates
[[வலிமுகம் is one of the names of monkeys so it is called திரங்கல்வன் முகவன்]]
(1) துரங்கன் வாய் பிளந்தானும் தூமலர்த்தோன்றலும் (2)அறியாமல் தோன்றி நின்று
visible to be witnessed by devotees but not be seen by Māl who cleft asunder the mouth of a horse and Piramaṉ who is seated in a pure (lotus) flower.
அரங்கில் ஆடவல்லார்
is capable of dancing in a stage.

as the muḻavam on the head of which a black paste is smeared is played to make it reverberate.
மாடமாளிகை கோபுரத்தின்மேல் பண்(இ) யாழ் முரலும் பழனத் திருப்பனையூர்
in Tiruppaṉaiyūr where the yāḻ is played in the mansions having storeys and tower-gates.
(பண்+யாழ்=பண்ண்(இ) யாழ் naṉṉul, 206).
வெண்நிலாச்சடை மேவிய, விண்ணவரோடு மண்ணவர் தொழ அண்ணல் ஆகி நின்றார்
Civaṉ who is the lofty god to be worshipped by the celestials and people of this world and who wears on his caṭai a white crescent (மேவிய அண்ணல் is the syntactical link)

as honey trickles gently as the group of monkeys leap and keṇṭai (a fresh water fish) frisks in the cool tanks nearby.
பரக்கும் தண்கழனிப்பழனத் திருப்பனையூர்
in Tiruppaṉaiyūr which has tanks and cool fields which are extensive.
இரக்கம் இல்லவர்
without pity.
ஐந்தொடு ஐந்தலை தோள் இருபதும் நெரிதர அரக்கனை அடர்த்தார்
Civaṉ pressed down the arakkaṉ to crush his ten heads and twenty shoulders.

{$} வஞ்சி நுண்ணிடை மங்கை பங்கினர்
Civaṉ has a young lady whose waist is as slender as the creeper vañci.
மாதவர் வளரும் வளர்பொழில் (1) பஞ்சின் மெல் அடியார் பயிலும் திருப்பனையூர்
on Tiruppaṉaiyūr which has thriving gardens where ladies with feet painted with red-cotton dye are moving about, and has people who do great penance are properous.
வஞ்சியும் வளர் நாவலூரன் வனப்பகையவள் அப்பன் வன்றொண்டன் செஞ்சொல் கேட்டு உகப்பார்
will rejoice on hearing the words in their direct primary significance composed by the father of Vaṉappakai, and the native of Nāvalur where the creeper, vañci grows besides other creepers.
