யாழைப் பழித்தன்ன மொழி மங்கை ஒரு பங்கன், பேழைச் சடை முடிமேல் பிறை வைத்தான் இடம் பேணில்
if one desires to worship the shrine of Civaṉ who has on one half a lady whose words ridicule the music produced in yāḻ, and who placed a crescent in his caṭai coiled into a crown which is like a chest;

it is definitely Maṟaikkāṭu where the small monkeys creep through a narrow small door getting through the garden of fragrant screw-pine and enjoy eating plantain fruits.

if one wants to know the shrine of Civaṉ who placed on his head a young white crescent.
முகரத்திடை முத்தின் (ன்) ஒளி பவளத்திரள் (1) ஓதம் தகரத்திடை தாழைத்திரள் ஞாழல்திரள் நீழல் மகரத்தொடு சுறவம் கொணர்ந்து எற்றும் மறைக்காடே
it is definitely maṟaikkāṭu where the waves which have collections of coral in which are concealed the pearls which are produced in the oysters, bring along with them makaran and shark dash against the shore in the shade of the groves of feted cassia and fragrant screw-pine that grow amidst the fragrant wax-flower dog-bane trees.

we knew the place of Civaṉ who expounded the four vētams along with the six aṅkams.
தெங்கங்களும் நெடும்பெண்ணையும் பழம்வீழ் மணல் படப்பை
in the enclosed sandy gardens where the matura fruits of the cocoanut trees and the tall palmyra trees fall down.
சங்கங்களும் இலங்கு இப்பியும் வலம்புரிகளும் இடறி
throwing on the shore ordinary conches, shining oysters and valampuri (conches spiralling clockwise)
வங்கங்களும் உயர்கூம்பொடு வணங்கும் மறைக்காடு (ஏ)
even the inanimate things like the ships pay homage coming to the shore with their masts.

Civaṉ wears on his chest a sacred thread called pancavaṭi made with grey hairs of tēvar who die.

பரவை அங்கைக் கடல் அருமாமணி உந்திக் கரைக்கு ஏற்ற வங்கத்தொடு சுறவம் கொணர்ந்து எற்றும் மறைக்காடே
it is definitely maṟaikkātu where the expansive ocean with its hands of waves push rare and big precious stones and pile them on the shore and strike against it bringing along with them ships and sharks.

பரவைக் கடலிடை இடைகழி அருகினில் கடிநாறு தண் கைதை மடலிடை இடை வெண்குருகு எழு மணிநீர் மறைக்காடே
is definitely maṟaikkāṭu which has blue water where in frequent intervals of the expansive ocean and by the side of the backwaters, the white cranes rise and fly from the inter spaces of the petals of the cool fragrant screw-pines which spread their fragrance.

Civaṉ wears a tender and waxing crescent which rose fresh in the sky.

the place of Civaṉ who admitted me as his protege after weeding out the irresistible acts done in previous births, like removing out weeds.
செந்நெல் வளை விளை வயல் கயல் பாய்தரு குண வார் மணற் கடல்வாய் வளைவளையொடு சலஞ்சலம் கொணர்ந்து எற்றும் மறைக்காடே
it is definitely maṟaikkāṭu where the carp fish jump in the fields where the variety of superior paddy of yellowish hue is bent due to the weight of the corns and where the eastern sea (bay of bengal) which has extensive sand brings the ordinary spiralling conches with a superior variety of conch by name calaṇcalam and strikes against the shore.

the waves of the sea where the big ships voyage carrying good cargoes and fragrant things on which bees swarm and stay, dash against the shore and recede.

is definitely maṟaikkāṭu where they bring along with them conch spiralling clockwise and calaṇcalan.
நம்கோன்இடம் அறிந்தோம்
as we knew maṟaikkāṭu, we knew the place of our King.

குண்டுஆடியும் சமண்ஆடியும் குற்றுடுக்கையர்தாமும் கண்டார் கண்ட காரணம்(ம்) அவை கருதாது கை தொழுமின்
(People of this world!) people who wear short dresses, being low and preaching doctrine of amaṇ religion, though they have realised some truths with their limited knowledge, you do not mind them as great, but worship with joined hands the shrine of.
எண்தோளினன், முக்கண்ணினன், ஏழிசையினன், அறுகால் வண்டு ஆடு தண்பொழில் சூழ்ந்து எழு மணிநீர் மறைக்காடு (ஏ)
Maṟaikkāṭu where blue sea-water rises high, and which is surrounded by cool gardens where the bees of six legs roam about and which belongs to Civaṉ who has eight shoulders, three eyes and who has the seven notes of music.

the votaries who sing the garlands of tamiḻ composed by ārūraṉ, who is the chief of the place, nāvalūr which has fertile fields and is surrounded by many place in this world.
நீர் ஊர்தரு நிலனோடு உயர் புகழ் ஆகுவர் (தாம், ஏ)
will attain fame which will exist as long as world surrounded by ocean lasts.
