பெருகு பொன்னிவந்து உந்து பல் மணியைத் தெருவும் தெற்றியும் முற்றமும் பற்றித்திரட்டும் தென் திருநின்றியூரானே
God in beautiful Tiruniṉṟiyūr where they heap the many precious stones that are pushed by the poṉṉi (Kāviri) by its freshes, in the streets, pials and courtyards of houses!
சிலந்தியார் செய்த செய் பணிகண்டு
Having recognised the services rendered by the spider in thought, word and deed.
மருவு கோச் செங்கணான் தனக்கு
to the King, who was made to be born, as Kōccakaṇaṉ in the next birth.
திருவும் வண்மையும் திண்திறல் அரசும் அளித்த வார்த்தை கேட்டு
hearing the story of your having granted him wealth, munificence and Kingdom of strong power.
நுன் மலரடி அடைந்தேன்
I took refuge in your lotus feet. (Please admit me into your grace).

{$} திணை கொள் செந்தமிழ் பைங்கிளி தெரியும் செல்வத் தென் திருநின்றியூரானே
God in beautiful Tiruniṉṟiyūr which has wealth and where the green parrots speak chaste Tamiḻ which has the unique classification of tiṇai, having learnt them by hearing!
அணிகொள் ஆடை, அம்பூண், அணிமாலை, அமுதுசெய்த அமுதம்பெறு (1) சண்டி
Canṭecar who received the beautiful cloth worn by Civaṉ, beautiful ornaments, garlands, worn by him, and food that was offered to god and partaken by him.
இணைகொள் ஏழ் எழுநூறு இரும்பனுவல் ஈன்றவன் திருநாவினுக்கரையன்
Tirunāvukkaraiyaṉ who gave to the caiva world four thousand and nine hundred verses which are equal in eminence to themselves.
கணைகொள் கண்ணப்பன் என்று இவர் பெற்ற காதல் இன்னருள் ஆதரித்து அடைந்தேன்
I reached your feet desiring the sweet grace which these people including Kaṇṇappaṉ who had an arrow in his hand, received as a result of their devotion. (Please admit me also into your grace).

தாதையைத் தாளற வீசிய சண்டிக்கு இவ்வண்டத் தொடும் உடனே பூதலத்தோரும் வணங்கப்ப பொற்கோயிலும் போனகமும் அருளிச் சோதிமணிமுடித்தாமமும் நாமமும் தொண்டர்க்கு நாயகமும், பாதகத்துக்குப் பரிசு வைத்தானுக்கே பல்லாண்டு கூறுதுமே (tiruppallāṇṭu, 10);

God who dwells in the beautiful and wealthy Tiruniṉṟiyūr where, mystics, celestials and acurar worship you!
முந்நூற்று அறுபது வேறு மொய்த்த சீர்மூன்று நூறு வேதியரொடு நுனக்கு, ஒத்தபொன் மணிக்கலசங்கள் ஏந்தி ஓங்கு நின்றியூர் என்று பரசுராமன் உனக்கு அளிப்ப
when paracurāmaṉ offered three hundred and sixty vēlis of land pouring water from the golden vessels fitting your greatness, by naming it as prospering niṉṟiyur, to you and three hundred brahmins of great fame

பத்தி செய்த அப்பரசுராமற்குப் பாதம் காட்டிய நீதிகண்டு அடைந்தேன்
I reached your feet seeing your nature when you showed your feet to that paracurāmaṉ who was devoted to you. (Please admit me into your grace)

{$} நிரவி நித்திலம் அத்தகு செம் பொன் அளிக்கும் தென் திரு நின்றியூரானே
God in beautiful tiruniṉṟiyūr which gives pearls and gold which has equal value as pearls!
பரம
supreme being!
இரவி நீள்சுடர் எழுவதன் முன்னம்
before the long rays of the sun begin to rise high in the sky.
சுரபி
a cow (some are of the opinion that it is Kāmatēṉu, the celestial cow).
எழுந்து
having woken up from sleep.
தன் முலைக்கலசங்கள் ஏந்தி
holding high the pots which are its udder.
பால் சொரிந்து ஆட்டி
poured its milk and bathed you.
நின் பாதம் தொடர்ந்த வார்த்தை திடம்படக் கேட்டு
having heard with certainty the story of its having reached your feet.
பரவி உள்கிவன் பாசத்தை அறுத்து
thinking of your feet, praising them and cutting as under the strong attachments.
வந்து நுண்பாதத்தை அடைந்தேன்
came all the way and approached your feet (Please accept me)

{$} செந்தண் மாமலர்த் திருமகள் மருவும் செல்வத் தென் திருநின்றியூரானே
God in beautiful tiruniṉṟiyūr of wealth where tirumakaḷ, the goddess of wealth, dwells in the cool and big red-lotus!
ஓர் இந்திரன்வந்து வழிபட மகிழ்ந்து வான நாடு நீ ஆள்க என அருளி
you granted the heaven saying, `you rule over that' when a certain intiraṉ came to the earth and worshipped you, being pleased with that.

when Akattiyaṉ who worshipped you with the thirty-two Kalaikaḷ.
சிந்து மாமணி அணி திருப்பொதியிற் சேர்வு நல்கிய செல்வம் கண்டு
knowing that you granted the flourishing state, the abode of beautiful potiyil which is adorned by the big precious stones scattered by the mountain, streams
அடைந்தேன்
I came to you (please accept me)

God in tiruniṉṟyūr where the fame due to the brahmins of right conduct being full, is eminent in this world!

to the sages whose ears were bored through by hearing words of wisdom.

when you expounded aṟam under the shade of the beautiful banyan tree.
வேதம் செய்து அவர் எய்திய இன்பம் யானும் கேட்டு
I too heard of the happiness they derived by writing vetams according to their own light.
நின் இணையடி அடைந்தேன்
I reached your two feet; (please accept me).

{$} நீடு மாடங்கள் மாளிகைதோறும்
in every mansion of high storeys.
பேடை மஞ்ஞையும், பிணைகளின் கன்றும், பிள்ளைக்கிள்ளையும் எனப் பிறை நுதலார் நிலவு தென் திரு நின்றியூரானே
God in beautiful Tiruniṉṟiyūr where the ladies whose forehead can be compared to the crescent stay like the female peacock, young ones of deer and young parrots!
கோடு நான்குடைக் குஞ்சரம் குலுங்க நலங்கொள் பாதம் நின்று ஏத்திய பொழுதே
as soon as the elephant with four tusks worshipped your feet standing before you when its body trembled with devotion.
பீடு விண்மிசைப் பெருமையும் பெற்றபெற்றி கேட்டு
on hearing that it got its former body and the greatness of living in heaven;
நின்பொற்கழல் அடைந்தேன்
I approached you feet as precious as gold (please accept me)
