ஆலந்தான் உகந்து அமுது செய்தானை
Civaṉ who consumed the poison, desiring it.
ஆதியை
the first cause of all things.
அமரர் தொழுது ஏத்தும் சீலம்(தான்) பெரிதும்(ம்) உடையானை
who has the nature of being easily accessible in a large measure and whom the immortals worship with hands joined and praise.
சிந்திப்பார் அவர் சிந்தை உளானை
who occupies the minds of those who meditate on him.
ஏலவார் குழலாள் உமை நங்கை என்றும் ஏத்தி வழிபடப் பெற்ற கால காலனை
who dealt death to the god of death and who was worshipped and praised always by the lady of distinction, Umai, who has long tresses of hair perfumed by an unguent
[[லெவார்குழலி is the name of the goddess in Kacci Ēkampam]]
கம்பன் எம்மானை
who has the name of Kampaṉ and our Lord.
கண் அடியேன் பெற்ற பேறே
what a wonderful thing it is that I obtained the sight of the left eye!

உற்றவர்க்கு உதவும் பெருமானை
Civaṉ who helps those in difficulties.
ஊர்வது ஒன்று உடையான்(ஐ)
who has a bull to ride on.
உம்பர் கோனை
the King of the celestials.
பற்றிறார்க்கு என்றும் பற்றவன் தன்னை
who is the support of those who hold him as their support.
பாவிப்பார் மனம் (1) பாவிக் கொண்டானை
who diffused himself in the minds of those who meditate on him.
அற்றம் இல் புகழாள் உமை நங்கை ஆதரித்து வழிபடப் பெற்ற கற்றைவார்சடைக் கம்பன் எம்மானை
who is Kampaṉ and our Lord who has long bundle of caṭai worshipped by the lady of distinction, Umai who has undying fame, desiring it.

திரியும் முப்புரம் தீப்பிழம்பாகச் செங்கண்மால் விடைமேல் திகழ்வானை
Civaṉ who stove on the bull of Māl who had red eyes to cause the wandering three cities to become a mass of fire

கரியின் ஈர்உரிபோர்த்து உகந்தானை
who covered with desire the skin of an elephant wet with blood.
காமனைக் காண விழித்தானை
who opened his frontal eye to burn Kāmaṉ as a mass of fire.
வரிகொள் செள்வளையாள் உமைநங்கை மருவி ஏத்தி வழிபடப் பெற்ற பெரியகம்பனை எங்கள் பிரானை
who is our Lord and the big Kampaṉ who was worshipped by a lady of distinction Umai who wore white bangles having lines, approaching near him and praising him.

குண்டலம் திகழ்காது உடையானை
Civaṉ in whose ear the ring made of gold shines.
கூற்று உதைத்த கொடுந்தொழிலானை
who performed the cruel act of kicking and killing the god of death.
வண்டு அலம்பும் மலர்க்கொன்றையினானை
who wears koṉṟai flowers on which bees settle and hum.
வாள் அராமதிசேர் சடையானை
who has on his caṭai a killing cobra and a crescent.
கெண்டை அம் தடங்கண் உமை (1) நங்கை கெழுமி ஏத்தி வழிபடப்பெற்ற கண்டம் நஞ்சு உடை(ய) கம்பன் எம்மானை
our master Kampaṉ who has in his neck poison and who was worshipped and praised by the distinguished lady, Umai, who has large eyes like the fresh water fish, Keṇṭai, with affection.

வெல்லும் வெண்மழு ஒன்று உடையானை
Civaṉ who has a white and victorious battle-axe.
வேலை நஞ்சு உண்ட வித்தகன் தன்னை
who is the able god who consumed the poison that rose in the ocean.
அல்லல் தீர்த்து அருள் செய்ய வல்லானை
who can bestow his grace removing the sufferings.
அருமறையவை அங்கம் வல்லானை
who is well-versed in the abstruse vētams and six aṅkams.
எல்லைஇல்புகழான உமை (1) நங்கை என்றும் ஏத்தி வழிபடப்பெற்ற நல்ல கம்பனை
Kampaṉ who does good and who was always praised and worshipped by Umai of distinction who has countless fame.
எங்கள் பிரானை
who is our master.

திங்கள் தங்கிய சடைஉடையானை
Civaṉ on whose caṭai the crescent stays.
தேவதேவனை
the god who is superior to other gods.
செழுங்கடல் வளரும் சங்க வெண்குழைக் காது உடையானை
who wears a mens' ear-ring made of white conch which grows in the fertile sea.
[[செழுங்கடல் வளரும் is an epithet qualifying சங்கம்]]
சாமவேதம் பெரிது உகப்பினை
who is partial towards cāma vētam.
மங்கை நங்கை மலைமகள் கண்டு மருவி ஏத்தி வழிபடப் பெற்ற கங்கையாளனை
who boars Kaṅkai and was worshipped and praised by the young distinguished lady, the daughter of the mountain, having improvised a liṅkam of sound, and being united with Civaṉ with affection.
கம்பன் எம்மானை
our Lord Kampaṉ.

விண்ணவர் தொழுது ஏத்த நின்றானை
Civaṉ who remains to be praised and worshipped with hands joined by the residents of heaven.
வேதம் தான் விரித்து ஓதவல்லானை
who is capable of chanting the vētams and expounding their meanings.
நண்ணினார்க்கு என்றும் நல்லவன் தன்னை
who always dispenses good to those who approach him.
நாளும் நாம் உகக்கின்றபிரானை
the master whom we desire daily.
எண்ணில் தொல்புகழான் உமைநங்கை என்றும் ஏத்தி வழிபடப் பெற்ற கண்ணும் மூன்று உடை(க்) கம்பன் எம்மானை
our master, Kampaṉ who has three eyes and who was worshipped and praised always by the distinguished lady, Umai who has fame which is countless and ancient.

என்றும் சிந்தித்து
always meditating on him.
நினைந்து எழுவார்கள் சிந்தையால் திகழும் சிவன் தன்னை
Civaṉ who shines in the minds of those who wake up from sleep thinking of him.
பந்தித்த வினைப்பற்று அறுப்பானை
who cuts the attachments born out of the acts that bind the souls.
பாலொடு ஆண் அஞ்சும் ஆட்டு உகந்தானை
who desired being bathed in the five products of the cow including milk.
அந்தம் இல்புகழாள் உமை நங்கை ஆதரித்து வழிபடப்பெற்ற கந்தவார் சடைக் கம்பன் எம்மானை
and our master, Kampaṉ, who has a long fragrant caṭai and who was worshipped with affection by Umai of distinction whose fame has no limit.

வரங்கள் பெற்று உழல், வாள் அரக்கர் வாலிய புரம் மூன்று எரித்தானை
Civaṉ who burnt the three great cities of the cruel arakkar who wandered everywhere having been the recipients of boons.
நிரம்பிய தக்கன்தன் பெருவேள்வி நிரந்தரம் செய்ய நிட்கண்டகனை
who was merciless in destroying the big sacrifice of takkaṉ in which all the celestials had assembled
[[நிரம்பிய may also mean all that were required for the sacrifice were full]]
[[நிட்கண்டகண் நிட்கண்டகம் செய்து வாழ்வேன் (cuntarar, tiruvārūr (6) 5)]]
பரந்த தொல்புகழான் உமைநங்கை பரவி ஏத்திவழிபடப்பெற்ற கரங்கள் எட்டு உடைக் கம்பன் எம்மானை
and our master, Kampaṉ who has eight arms and who was worshipped by the distinguished Umai who has ancient fame which has spread everywhere, by praising Civaṉ in the second and the third persons.

எள்கல் இன்றி
without slighting.
இமையவர் கோனை ஈசன் வழிபாடு செய்வான் போல் உள்ளத்து உள்கி
thinking in her mind just like one of those who worshipped Civaṉ, who is the Lord of the universe, and master of the celestials who do not wink.
உகந்து
desiring.
வழிபடச் சென்று நின்றவா கண்டு
seeing her performing worshop going there for the purpose.
வெள்ளம் காட்டி
causing floods in the river Kampai
வெருட்டிட
frightening her.
அஞ்சி ஓடித் தழுவ வெளிப்பட்ட கள்ளக் கம்பனை எங்கள் பிரானை
our master, Kaḷḷakkampaṉ who became manifest when Umai embraced the liṅkam fearing lest it should be swept away by the floods.

பெற்றம் ஏறு உகந்து ஏற வல்லானை
Civaṉ who can ride on a bull of the boomi species, with desire.
பெரிய எம்பெருமான் என்று எப்போதும் கற்றவர் பரவப் படுவானை
who is praised in the second person by learned schoolars always as our great Lord.
கண் அடியேன் பெற்றது என்று
rejoicing what a wonderful act it was to regain my eye slight.
கொற்றவன் கம்பன் கூத்தன் எம்மானை
our master, dancer, Kampaṉ and King.
குளிர் பொழில் திருநாவல் ஆரூரன் நல்தமிழ் இவை ஈர் ஐந்தும்
those who can recite these ten verses of refined tamiḻ composed by ārūraṉ of tirunāval which has cool gardens.
நன்னெறி உலகு எய்துவர் (தாம், ஏ)
will reach the world of Civaṉ, that one can reach by following the right path.
