கடவூர் மயானத்துப் பெரிய பெருமான் அடிகள்
the supreme god in Kaṭavūr Mayāṉam.
மரு ஆர் கொன்றை மதி சூடி
having worn a crescent and fragrant koṉṟai flowers.
மாணிக்கத்தின் மலை போல வருவார் விடைமேல் மாதோடு மகிழ்ந்து பூதப்படை சூழ
will come riding on a bull like the mountain of a ruby, with a lady, joy fully to be surrounded by an army of putams.
திருமால் பிரமன் இந்திரற்கும் தேவர் நாகர் தானவர்க்கும் பெருமான்
is the Lord of ((big deities like)) Tirumāl, Piramaṉ, Intiraṉ, and ((other smaller)) tēvar, inhabitants of the serpent world and tāṉavar (acurar)

is the chief of the celestials.
வெண்புரிநூல் மார்பர்
wears on his chest a white sacred thread of three strands.

sings vētams setting them to music.
கண்ஆர் நுதலர்
has a frontal eye.
நகுதலையர்
holds a laughing skull.
காலகாலர்
is the death-dealing god to the god of death himself.
கடவூரர்
is in Kaṭavūr.
எண்ணார்புரம் மூன்று எரிசெய்த இறைவர்
the master who burnt the three cities of the enemies.
உமை ஓர் ஒருபாகம் பெண்ஆண் ஆவர்
has a male half and Umai the female half in his body

பேய்கள் வாழும் மயானத்துப் பெரியபெருமான் அடிகள்
the supreme god who dwells in the cremation ground where pēys live.
காயும் புலியின் அதள் உடையார்
dresses himself in the skin of an angry tiger
[[காயும் is an epithet when it was alive.]]
கண்டர்
has a neck stained by the poison
[[கண்டர் the first letter சீ is dropped, it is corruption of cirikaṅtaṉ which is a manifestation of Civaṉ, having a poison stained neck.]]
எண்தோள் கடவூரர்
is in Kaṭavūr and has eight arms.
தாயும் தந்தை(உம்) பல் உயிர்க்கும் தாமே ஆய தலைவனார்
is the chief who is himself the mother and father for the many living beings.
பாயும்விடை ஒன்று(அது) ஏறிப் பலிதேர்ந்து உண்ணும் பரமேட்டி
is the god in the most exalted place who eats receiving alms riding on a galloping bull.

நறைசேர் மலர் ஐங்கணையானை நயனத்தீயால் பொடிசெய்த இறையார் ஆவர்
is the supreme god who reduced to ashes by the fire issuing from his frontal eye, the cupid who has arrows of five flowers which have honey in them.
எல்லார்க்கும் இல்லை என்னாது அருள்செய்வார்
grants to all what they wish without saying I have nothing to give
பறை, ஆர்முழவம் பாட்டோடு பயிலும் தொண்டர் பயில் கடவூர்ப் பிறையார் சடையார்
has a caṭai on which he wears a crescent and dwells in Kaṭavūr where devotees who practise on mudavūr and other leather instruments with vocal music, are crowding.

கொத்து ஆர்கொன்றை மதிசூடி
wearing koṉṟai which blossoms in bunches, and a crescent.
கோள் நாகங்கள் பூணாக
wearing as ornaments cobras which are capable of killing.
மத்தயானை உரிபோர்த்து
covering himself with the skin of a rutting elephant.
மருப்பும் ஆமைத் தாலி யார்
has ornaments of the hog's tusk, and the shell of a tortoise as a tāli.
பத்திசெய்து பாரிடங்கள் பாடிஆடப்பலிகொள்ளும் பித்தர்
is Civaṉ who receives alms when the pūtams, cherish him with love, sing and dance.

துணிவார்கீளும் கோவணமும் துதைந்து
wearing tightly a loin-cloth and a long girdle of an ascetic which is usually a long strip of cloth.
சுடலைப்பொடி அணிந்து
smearing the ash in the cremation ground.
பணிமேல் இட்ட பாசுபதர்
Civaṉ who has the appearance of a pācupataṉ who adorned his body with cobras.
பஞ்சவடிமார்பினர்
who has the appearance of a māvirati wearing a sacred thread twisted with hair.
[[The description of a māvirata caiva ascetic is found in periyapurāṇam māṉakkañcaṟa nāyaṉār purāṇam, 22-26;
மஞ்சு தழைத்தென வளர்ந்த மலர்க்கூந்தல் புறம்நோக்கி, அஞ்சலி மெய்த்தொண்டரைப் பார்த்து அணங்கிவள் தன் மயிர் நமக்குப் பஞ்சவடிக்காம் என்றார் (Do.29);

கார்ஆர் கடலின் நஞ்சு உண்டகண்டர்
has a neck in which he has stationed the poison that rose in a very black ocean.
கடவூர் உறை வாணர்
resides in Kaṭavūr.
தேர் ஆர் அரக்கன் போய் வீழ்ந்து சிதைய விரலால் ஊன்றினார்
pressed with his toe the arakkaṉ riding on a chariot, to make his body injured, falling down from that chariot.
உலகு ஏழும், உடையார்க்கு ஊர்தான் ஆவது ஒற்றியூர் ஆரூர்
to Civaṉ who has all the seven worlds, the important places are oṟṟiyūr (a place that has been mortgaged);

feeling happy with a lady having breasts which do not diminish in beauty.

following the pig with a tusk in the forest assuming the form of a hunter.

விசயன் தவம் அழித்து
destroying Vicayaṉ's penance.
நாடாவண்ணம் செருச்செய்து
fighting with him without being recognised.
ஆவ நாழி நிலை அருள் செய்பீடுஆர் சடையர்
Civaṉ, who has a famous caṭai granted him a quirar and attitude in archery.

வேழம் உரிப்பர்
will flay an elephant.
மழுவாளர்
possesses a battle-axe.
வேள்வி அழிப்பர்
devastated the sacrifice performed by takkaṉ.
சிரம் அறுப்பர்
cut off the heads of many tēvar who assembled there.
அரிதனக்கு ஆழி அளிப்பர்
will give a discus to ari (Māl).
ஆன் அஞ்சு உகப்பர்
will like being bathed in the five products of the cow.
அறம் உரைப்பர்
will give philosophical discourse to four sages.
ஏழைத்தலைவர்
is the husband of a lady, Umai.
இறைவா
pervades in everything and everywhere.
சிறுமான்மறிக்கையர்
holds in his hand a tender young deer;
பேழைச்சடையர்
has a caṭai which contains many things like a box;

{$} மாடம்மல்கு கடவூரில் மறையோர் ஏத்து மயானத்துப் பீடை தீர அடியாருக்கு அருளும் பெருமான் அடிகள் சீர் நாடி
desirings earnestly the fame of the supreme god who grants his grace to remove the afflictions of devotees and who dwells in the mayāṉam in Kaṭavūr where mansions are prosperous and the brahmins praise him.
நாவல் ஆரூரன் நம்பிசொன்ன நற்றமிழ்கள் பாடும் அடியார் கேட்பார் மேல் பாவம் ஆன பறையுமே
the sins of those who sing the good Tamiḻ verses composed by the eminent among men, who is a native of Nāvalūr and who has the name of Ārūraṉ, and hear them sung, will disappear by degrees.
